Thanks for letting me know after my family and I ate the product! This recall came way too late. It's been like a month and a half.
But speaking of Morton's, we recently bought a Steakhouse Classic flavored tri-tip and usually it tastes great. This time, the marinade was way off - way too salty and we were really disappointed in it.
Don't think we'll ever buy their marinated tri-tip again.

I have some in my fridge...was about to put it on the grill this weekend. I guess I'll be going back to Costco for a refund. I only heard of this because I overheard another customer on her cell phone as she was going in to return it. I immediately looked down in her basket to see which meat she was returning, "due to a recall". How was I supposed to know about the recall, if I didn't overhear her? How does Costco contact you?

Costco not only called both phone numbers listed on our account, they also US mailed the recall notice.

It was after we had eaten the steak though.

I did not get any phone calls, but I did get a letter. Also long after we ate the product.

We ate both of them. My oldest daughter got sick and had abdominal pain with bloody stools and my husband threw up all night. That came from the first one that we ate. The second one--While I was cutting it, I noticed that it had a long white tubular thing going through just one part of the meet. I pulled it out thinking that it was just a discuting looking piece of fat, but my husband said that it looked more like a tapeworm. I will NEVER buy this meet again. Of course the notice came way after we ate the 2 products and costco wouldn't give back the money because we couldn't find the receipt nor did we save the yummy tainted food!! IT's like duh, you have the info that we bought it...

Our problem, twice, has been with the Morton's of Omaha sliced roast beef. It's gone bad at least a half week ahead of the Use By date. What a waste of our money.

We ate the Tri-Tip Classic Trip Tip and it was the best ever from Mortant's of Omaha...I wanted to order more and can't find it.

You can't find better tasting meat then the" Tri-Tip Classic". It was delicious and no one got sick...we are picky eaters....Of course you will find a bad apple now and then - but, don't condemn "all" in a state of panic.

Nothing is perfect! Except those who want to destroy good companies.

I'll bet the "complainers" have eaten much worse from their own home-cooking and kitchens?

Just prepared a Mortons Tri Tip classic for dinner. We could not eat it because it was so salty. I seem to remember a similar reaction to this product some time ago but apparently didn't recall it from my memory bank and purchased it again with the same result. For sure, I will never buy it again unless they lower the salt content. (yes, I know it is on the label) but that doesn't alter the fact that is way over the threshold for healthy eating.

At Costco yesterday, my husband purchased your Steakhouse Classic Tri Tip
( 3.86 lb @$5.19) thinking it was the same delicious ready-to-eat pot roast he had bought before. His fault, not yours - although if the purchase had said
" easy to cook " or " roast in traditional oven or microwave ", he wouldn't have made the error.

Second point -- and more egregious -- nowhere on the package does it say how long to cook the meat! I'd wager that far fewer than half of American kitchens have meat thermometers, so how is a novice to know how long to plan for cooking dinner? All you say is " to an internal temperature of 145. Insufficient. You should do better.

P.S. The meat was pretty good, but much saltier than it should be.

I've been using this Tri-Tip product for years. I use my smoker with hickory chips and smoke it for 4 hours plus. It comes out outstanding! I only hope that Costco DOES NOT discontinue the product.

This tri tip is great cooked on the grill! Last time I bought it for a New Years Eve dinner however, it was very tough. I'm going to give it another go and make Morton's Steak & Baked Potato Soup for a soup event my friends have every year in January.

We purchased a 2 plus pound Morton's of Omaha Steakhouse Classic Tri Tip. The other person was correct in that it did not tell timing however it does online.
Cooked it and it was so 'strong' with whatever that we could not eat it at all. The engredients give things that should not effect the meat except to be good. Therefore it must be in the unnamed spices that make it intolerable.

Try to find a tri-tip that has not been 'tenderized' or is anything but pure beef and you will be in for a wonderful treat.
