I had a look at one of these that was bought by a woman i knew, sucked in by the advertising. Very, very cheaply made chinese junk. Bad welds, poorly riveted together. Total waste of money! Aluminium is very thin. Buy a decent Bailey ladder for the same price and you'll have it for a lifetime. This product was actually recalled for poor welds! Like most TV shop advertising.. it's all over priced and very hard to get yr money back.

@Phil Smith - Thanks for the useful information, as the Ad on TV does look very good. Will look into Bailey instead.

Gorilla is 120 KGS versus 135KGS for the Bailey. The Bailey is way easier to use than the Gorilla. It doesn't catch when you are extending it like the Gorilla. The Bailey is available at Total Tools and a number of other tool stores and some Home Hardware stores I have seen.

Just received a Transforma ladder and think its pretty good quality. Not sure of previous problems but the welds on my one look quite ok. I use it in an outdoor commercial environment and love the adjustable leg levellers that come with it along with the wall standoff which allows better access to the wall surface your working on. Hopefully I can still remain this happy with it after 12 months of bashing it around. Hope this review helps.

Just check before you buy, the Transforma Ladder was sudject to a total recall in Australia last year (PRA number: 2009/10959 Date created: 5th August 2009) faulty/weak welds. Beware of this befor e you spend top dollar on a ladder.

I have been on the internet for 4 hours looked up the transforma great price if your in America or Canada, rang up to check the price in Australia, nearly had a heart attack. Found a great Bailey BXS ladder more than half the price of transforma on tv. thanks for all your comments, it made me look around. Can't wait to buy it.

The chrome dome guy with poor annunciaton and the fake Rolex was enough to tell me the ladder is cheap Chinese crap. Anyone who falls for this fake advert deserves to be conned. Gorilla and Baileys have top quality @ half the price!

Has anyone queried with the company whether the welding and whatever other faults from 2009 had been rectified since then?

Had mine ( 4.7) for 12 months, a little heavy but does a great job and very solid. Ideal for those high jobs with all the accessories.

All those that bought into the lies of the infomercial will never say it is crap. They are too scared that they will have everyone telling them they are fools for believing it. The people who bought this ladder fall are the people most likely to buy that scratch repair pen that "takes the scratch right away from the paint" (words to that effect). Look closely and you will see that they are just rubbing off a chinagraph pencil mark that they have drawn to make it look like a scratch. One thing I have learned since Tim Shaw, all of that stuff is BULLSHIT!

I have a multi-level home on a terraced and sloping block. Perhaps the various comments regarding overpricing and questionable quality may be at least partly correct. Then again, the alternatives also have question marks!
My transforma is a bit heavy with the attachments in place and is not easy to lift into position when fully extended (question of balance). It is, however, better than the conventional alternatives and made painting, maintenance etc much easier.

Today the tranformer ladder is $89. USD.
Not bad markup!

Any product that is marketed on TV will have massive markups.

I bought one when I saw the little old lady carry it about like it was a feather. In reality, the ladder is very heavy and could not be carried by your average female let alone an old lady.

I received my transforma ladder T35 yesterday, I was ready to send it straight back after I read all the comments on this page, we got it up today, and I will not go on a ladder because they frighten me, I was on this one straight away and felt perfectly safe. Yes one thing is right, it is heavy but that makes me feel much safer, its the best ladder I have seen, my partner agrees with this too. am going to check out the gorilla but i doubt it will be as good as mine.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Sagittarius

You're wearing rose-tinted glasses today, especially when you look at some of the special people in your life. Right now you only want to see their good points and you'll deliberately turn a blind eye to any faults that might be on show. If you can escape from the real world for a day with you-know-who you'll have a marvelously romantic and emotional time together. But do your best to come back to earth tomorrow.
