Wanna open your eyes a little bit? Read this.
The tribune isn't reporting this correctly, It really wasn't most of the people at U of I's fault in the first place. My uncle called the admissions office, said, "Hey, why are these kids being let in?" The woman-- a person with a high standing in the office, my uncle knows her-- replied, "We've asked the same questions, but we're under direct orders from Mr. Eppley."
Not the board. Mr. Larry E.
The politicians were putting pressure on the admissions office, and most of the people didn't have a choice. They would let these kids in-- or be fired! I agree with Taxpayer completely, it's what happened, and if you keep reading these stupid articles that basically say the same thing constantly, you're probably a clouted student yourself. If you want to get a school for letting in influential students- i.e, politicians sons and daughters- go look up ISU.

Good for U of I.
There is no reason to drag the kids through the mud. The University was acting on pressure from politicians to let these kids in.
These are the same politicians that control the purse strings for the college. No admissions, no money.
If a list of names needs to be released, release the names of the politicians that used their office and position to force the college to take students that didn't make the cut.
Listen, like he said, it wasn't the board--
It's Blago, politicians that wanted their kids-relatives-whatever in, and the chairman of the board, yes, Larry Eppely. Epelly. Eppelly. I can't spell it!
Blago (since my spellcheck keeps telling me it's wrong) put pressure on Mr. E (still can't spell it!) to let the students in, Mr. E agreed with him and did whatever he could to make sure he retained his position as a trustee. But, he doesn't deserve the I wanted to keep my job excuse-- he completely agreed with Blago when he had the right to stand up, risk his job, and say enough is enough. But of course, his job is too precious for him. Really, please don't blame the entire board of trustees, some of them didn't even know about this. Truthfully, the entire board shouldn't be removed. Joe White's not doing a great job, but he doesn't need to be removed. Herman doesn't have any problems either. It's the problem people that need to be taken off, and nobody else. Identify the correct people that were the problem--Not the underlings who had no choice-- and this entire article is over.
