This is what happens when a bunch of people who barely understand how technology and the internet work are running the country. People working in tech may not be the brightest bunch of techies, but they do know how to recognize scams better than the government at this time in history. The government just needs to leave the internet and cyber security alone until there are politicians who are at least tech savvy.
