Nuruddin is an exceptional novelist and I agree with those who believe that winning the Nobel Prize is overdue. He already won awards in Scandinavia, Germany and France. He is a treasure of literature for not only Somalia but mother Africa.

Hadalkaasi uu qoraagu soo tebiyey waxaan inuu yahay mid mug iyo miisaan leh. In dhaqan wax laga tilaamo iska daaye, afkii ka horeeyey ayaa meel cidlo ah laga taagan yahay. Dhaqanka waxaad garan kartaa markii uu qofku derso afka uu dhaqankaasu ku tiirsan yahay. Haddii kale hadalku haybad ma uu yeelanayo.

Waa runtaa, luuqadu ineey tahay lamahuuraan waad ku saxsanthihiin. Laakin Nurradin Farah qoraalkiisa af soomaali kuma qoro, wuxuu ku qoraa af-Ingriis, qoraalkiisuna badaanaa wuxuu ka sheekaayaa soomalida, dhaqanka soomaliyeed iyo dhaqanka soomaaliyeed siduu isku badalay. Marka, inkastoo aan anigu gaar ahaan u xiiseeyo qoraalkiisa, marmarka qarkood waan is weeydiyaa: "Odeygan, Nurrudiin Farah, miyoo ii sheekeeynaayaa, mise uu iga sheekeeneeyaa...haduu iga sheekeeneyana; waa kuma dadkuu sheekeeyoonkiisa uugu talagalay? Teeda kale, miyuu nagu dhaleceeynkaraa, dadkayaga qurbaha ku soo korey, af soomaaligeena kala qaloocaan, haduu isagu laftirkiisa yahay qoraa cilmi leh/aqoonyahan soomaliyeed oo af-ingiriiska qu qaraabta? Isagu haduu yahay soomali cilmi leh, soo inuu isaguna inuu masuul qaato maaha, haduu rabo in af soomaliga la dhawro oo la faafiyo?

Ciil Wanaagsan Dhamaan.
Nuunadiin akhristayaashiidu ma ah Somali, laakin wax qorkiisa ayaa ah Somali. Taasi waxay keentay in uu Af/ka qalaad wax ku qoro. Hadii la waydiiyo dadka Somalida ah ama la eego Buugyaal guriyeedka dadka somaliyeed laga ma helayo albook oo uu leeyahay.
Laakin wuxuu baraa caalamka Somalida, markaa waa in uu afka qalaad wax ku qoro. Mida kale hadii xataa afsomali wax lagu qoro aaway dadkii wax akhrinlaa.

4 sana ayaan joogaa yurub wali ma arag qof Somali ah oo saran, train, bus ama tram oo intuu kaligii meel fadhiyo book akhrinaya, laakin maalin walba waxa iga xishood siiya xawliga codka teleefonka ay ku hadlayaan marka ay buska saa ran yihiin.
Waxaa layiri carab wax ma akhrido haday akhriyaana ma fahmaan. Laakin Somali wax ma akhrido in ay akhriyaana ma rabaan. Fadhi kudirir ayaa fuuq kasiiyay.

I guess you might have heard a Somali Novelist called Nuruddin Farah, and his first published Novel entitled "From a Crooked rib" in Somali [ Ka timi feedh Qaloocan], Some people criticize him about his controversial comments of Hijab, in his an imitation, especially of a ridiculous or unsatisfactory kind of idiomatic mockery of his character writings ; which inpired by Atheists like Salman Rushdie and other White Man Feminists. In addition to that;others argued he doesnt have enough knwoledge about Islam and Somali culture, in my opinion , he confused Hijab with traditional somali women dress, according to his cliams hijab is imported from Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan, but it is not, it is a faith to be practiced. He once wrote "My mother never wore a veil, nor my sisters.' They said my mother was not a Muslim." In the diaspora, he argues, "the majority could not articulate their Somali culture. The less you know about Islam, the more conservative people become."
My review of the Somali but English written Novel "From Crooked Rib" 1970
