Not by a long shot. I would sooner have gouged my eyes out with a stick than vote for Obama.

I have personally witnessed some very unprofessional actions by Butte County law enforcement bordering on the unbelievable as well as gross errors in prosecution by the DA's office.

I know right from wrong, and it is definitely time for a change.

Daniel can't even get his list in order! Maybe you should double check his work before you copy and paste because there are people listed on there TWICE!

For example: Richard Reynolds & Jim Mathews!

And if you actually lived in Butte County you would know that most of these people are family members and employees of the polluters! Half of them don't even know what's going on, they're only hearing one side of the story.

First of all, there a a lot of duplicates in that list. Secondly, bang that list against the butte county court website. I recognize several of the DA's "customers" in that list.

OMG! There are a few duplicates on this list of some 300 people? Well, somebody call FOX! At least call CNN! Surely this must be a sign of the apocalypse... Please! You embarrass even yourself. And that's saying something.

As is evident to most people who aren't in need of medication, the list was pasted only to refute the asinine claim that Mr. Daniel enjoys only a handful (39 or thereabouts?) of supporters. Obvious BS as usual.

So..."most" of his supporters are either evil polluters or friends/family thereof, eh? If I were only a resident I'd know this because I'd personally recognize every one of them by...their horns? Or tails perhaps? "They're only hearing one side of the story"? Right....

"Horns" - that was cute. No if you lived here you would be able to see the connection! And yes, I do know FOR A FACT that they are only hearing one side of the story!

So, why don't you make a trip up to Butte County and ask them personally...prove me wrong!

Don, cops investigating cops is how the Officers in the King tape ended up going to trial. The cops did their investigation (actually it was probably D.A. investigators) and submitted it to the D.A.'s office. The D.A. probably filed the case because of the public outcry due to what was shown on T.V. The public, like you, apparently didn't see the full tape of the King incident, only what was shown on T.V., which presented at best an incomplete (edited to be sensational), version of what happened and why it happened the way it did. If you had seen the entire tape and knew the context, you would know that had King followed instructions after the pursuit, he would never have been hit. Had he not been dusted, he likely would have felt some pain and would have complied long before he did. Why is that the two other persons in the vehicle who complied with instructions, were not struck?
You also seem to be ignoring the fact that a Simi Valley Jury found the Officers innocent of wrongdoing in the first trial and were only found guilty after a second trial on federal charges (after the riots).
As to New York, I believe, but don't know for sure, that they have a civilian review board that monitors use of force. That isn't "cops investigating cops" if you have a complaint it's about civilians with full knowledge of what happened (not what they heard on the news or read in the paper) finding them justified in their actions.
WOW, someone who actually has some common sense and sees through the media hype bull%&t that goes on so often. From L.A. to New York to Paradise. The fact is, unless you understand use of force issues, the average citizen and media do not, they will always think the cops use of force was excessive. For those who actually want to understand rather than just run at the mouth without understanding please go to the following website and educate yourself a little. http://www.forcescience.org/articles.html

A sad set of circumstances to say the least but on it's surface and with the limited information in the news article it sounds like it was justifiable. Police are tasked with investigating a crime. They are dealing with a man with a gun at the front door and a naked women approaches them with a shotgun and ignores orders by officers to drop the gun. What choice would they have? You can arm chair quarterback all you want but I doubt anyone else could do any better. When you work in a profession were people want to kill you you follow your training under pressure. That training is to stop the threat and go home at the end of a shift. Choices were made under hard circumstances. Why was a gun pointed at the census worker? Does not sound exactly normal to me. Then she comes at police officers with a shotgun in hand? There was something more going on there than we know about. Don't just take the word of a sensationalized news piece as gospel. There is always more to the story.

The police officer posting on this thread is right
on some points. Each and every incident has it's own set of circumstances. However, the bottom line
on the specific incident that happened in Paradise
is that there were two eyewitnesses separate from
the several witnesses directly involved in the actual arrest who were never interviewed by the department who claimed a thorough investigation
was conducted. Also, the DA, Mike Ramsey, obviously
in collaboration with the cops, made a statement to an investigator that the incident had been fully
investigated when it had not. This places Mr Ramsey's credibility on the line and is but only
one example of the fact that he cannot be trusted.
We do not need a DA who lies. Vote Daniel for DA.

Voting is confidential. Did you get these people's permission to print their names in a list of possible voters. I would be upset if my name showed up any list printed on a blog or elsewhere with regard to how or who I voted for in any election.
