Thanks for information. It appears that there is no accountability demanded by the employers (who are taxpayers) from our employees (who are the government leaders). Guess that's shame on taxpayers' apathy. Just because it's always been that way is NO EXCUSE to continue.
We need new leaders elected who are skilled in better financial management of our tax dollars in the best interest of all the people throughout the community.
It's time for Mr. Wade to stop donating our township taxes; and
enjoy voluntary service of his own time and money to further his personal community interests.
Voters can express our appreciation to Mr. Wade by allowing him to retire from trustee responsibilities in 2013.
IMO, the reason Wade got away with alot in the past was that the economy was good and the township folks had a higher income per capital, therefore not worrying about Wade's monetary hobbies.

Of course it is not the township government's plan to give a Tax Holiday. As Ed Wade said, "it would be such a small amount for each homeowner, I THINK (?) the government could make better use of the money. Now there's a "critical thinking" good old boy politician - living off the taxpayers now for about 36 years, because HE thinks HE can better spend OUR money.
It's elected officials with that "entitlement mentality" like Mr. Wade that need not be re-elected in November 2013. And No New Fire Levy in 2013! As we clearly see, there is NO need for the township to collect more taxes from struggling homeowners; simply because good old boy Ed Wade WANTS a new fire station!
That was my campaign slogan, and I got defeated bigtime. I support Cathy Anspach and Jack Christman fully to defeat Ed Wade and his "good ole boy" group, which includes the township administrator, Dennis Pickett. We don't need another fire station at the tax payers expense, when the township coffers are already filled. Demand accountability!!

We have heard that line of excuse, but there is no excuse for our local government elected officials to overcharge township residents simply because they can get away with doing so.
As responsible citizens, we don't allow ourselves to be overcharged for services rendered simply because the economy is good and my paycheck is big.
Unfortunately this inept leadership of stockpiling money in the general fund and then looking for "donation" opportunities to fund the athletic field's luxury is very poor financial leadership; and we cannot trust the Clearcreek Township with more New Money,
now that they are crying for New Taxes in 2013 to build a Fire Station. Just another "luxury" for Mr. Wade that township taxpayers cannot afford; and voters should just say NO to Mr. Wade's request for a new Springboro Fire Station (which is NOT needed) and just say NO to ALL requests from local governments asking for New Money in 2013. Rumor has it that in addition to the schools RENEWAL levy coming in 2013; and Mr. Wade's 2013 Fire Levy; that the Warren County MRDD has done a survey and rounded up More people who qualify for government entitlements and that a 2013 levy will be on the ballot. Many Springboro residents have seen their city water bills double recently and health care costs steadily on the rise. Voters simply can't keep funding these government agencies expanding services while at the same time balancing our own household budgets. Our local governments must stop spending money that "we the people do not have."

This board seat will be up for vote in just over a year. In order to re-establish proper checks and balances the board ought to be thinking about appointing someone who is either politically neutral or somewhat pro-union. That being said, the board isn't in any way obligated to select the brightest bulb in the box. This is the reason why I predict Gentry will be asked back.
What are you talking about "either politically neutral or somewhat pro-union?"

Was Steph trying to point fingers at the board for not appointing Gentry Ellis to a board position? How Rude!

Why would four elected officials appoint Gentry Ellis, or any other pro-union applicant, since voters rejected FOUR pro-union school board candidates last November?

Would not that have shown poor judgement of our BOE majority members who were elected to serve in the best interest of children first?

you are exactly right. The reason this Township has a 14 million dollar surplus is not because our Township Trustees are so conservative, we do not owe them a debt of gratitude for not spending the excess taxes they forced us to pay, we should instead impeach them for over collecting, and lying to us about their needs. Shame on those that did not ask for what they needed but raked us over and over again over the coals just to satisfy their greed. Why the H___ would this Township own 200 acres of land they bought at beyond top dollar from one of the Trustees? How many parks named after yourself do you need? Why one acreages at all? Perfect example of govt. growth.
Why would they pay and benefit well beyond anyone else in the private sector, How can they justify paying someone a full enormous salary while that same person is getting full retirement benefits? WHY WHY WHY?? Really, there is no one else for the job. I don't believe it! Answer- Good old boy club? Someone protecting someone perhaps?? And they tell us they need another Fire station. Sell one of your parks, better yet give us our money back. You stole it, now give it back. Steeling is when you take something from someone without permission. You had permission to tax us for what you needed and you proclaimed you needed it and now the truth comes out. You overtaxed and overtax now and you dream of more. Sure, you have the money, why not?

Oh Boys, that is my money, give it back.

The real sham in our school district is the Springboro Education Association officials, including Sarah Thornbury, who run around in circles chasing their own tales of shame in disrespect to school authority and community taxpayers.
It is just a shame that district taxpayers are stuck picking up the tab for employees (including Sarah Thornbury) who grumble and complain that our BOE elected officials just will not REVERSE our children's future to the union's agenda of "business as usual" throwing our kids under the bus in favor of greedy union demands.

Does Sarah Thornbury have no ethical responsibility to behave in public like a grown up, stop trashing school authority and stop spreading lies that our school district is suffering because the SEA can't get a levy passed to increase union salaries and benefits?

Don't know much about legal union scams; but shouldn't community members demand of Ms. Thornbury's boss that she be reminded that her lies about our school district and community members are damaging to the reputation of our school staff as a whole?

Why should taxpayers have to be subjected to school employees deliberately trying to harm the reputation of the school district that provides great working conditions, fringe benefits and wages? If Springboro schools "employment" package is not working for Sarah Thornbury, then why is Sarah Thornbury not working in a school district some place else?

Shame on you Sarah Thornbury. Stop bullying Springboro and go find productive employment in a school district that agrees with your "anti-children first" philosophy.

It is understood that recently six part-time firefighters were hired at the township instead of three full time employees;
rumor has it that the township plans holding taxpayers hostage over No money to add full time firefighters UNLESS the 2013 fire levy passes. Keep in mind this is a scare tactic; we will be told that our firefighters will not be able to save the old people and the little children, IF the township does not get NEW MONEY. We will remember the waste of old money stockpiled because for years we have been overtaxed by township government. We will remember the wasteful donation of our money used for "spreading the green" on Wade Field. We must take a stand and send a clear message to all government agencies to STOP THE SPENDING. We simply must spread the word to just say NO NEW TAXES.

Interesting thread, the unvarnished truth about how our near neighbors view an ex basketball coach. The date on this thread is from March 2012 when they were talking about the replacement for Centerville's coaching position.

And yet another chapter in our glorious basketball tradition that resides in the Kings Mill's program.

THE key to replacing Wade is getting a people's person to run...!!
A people's person that wants voters to trust them as a people's person has to run in broad circles and get to know the people.
Last November, it seems that the trustees just ran in their own close knit community of friends and relatives and possibly Gabbard simply had a wider circle of pro-union Boosters bullies in his corner; and the promise of delivering the green stuff to Wade Field seems the boost that yielded him the most votes. Perhaps the scrutiny of the Boosters athletics in the current news will alert voters next year to "trust.....but veryify" We need to know who the candidates for township trustee are; and what is their interest in getting elected?

We will not forget.

At the August 14 board meeting, wasn't it school treasurer Tracy Jarvis that said she would contact the Springboro Police and ask for an update to report to the public.
What happened, Tracy?
Nothing was mentioned at the August 28 meeting.
Can we expect that the Board will have a report to the publicon this at the next meeting?
This is clearly not the job of citizens to contact the Springboro Police; but clearly we should contact School Treasurer and Superintendent and ask what's happening on this.
We will not forget; we are trusting that our school district leadership is following up on this.

Gabbard not only was in the camp with Wade, but had the financial backing of Agenbroad, the union mayor of AGENBORO.
