Well did you actually see the size of that fire? Go to www.sta4.com and you will see why they ran out of water.

Everyone in Hamilton township should know or understand that our water comes form bear valley and they do not have hydrants for the firefighters to use so they have to shuttle the water. I know this because I am a 23 year active veteran volunteer firefighter with station 4. I have been inactive for about 8 years. These guys work hard to make sure that they have all types of water sources mapped out for these type of calls. They did an awesome job with what they had to work with. We the citizens of Hamilton Township need to get on bear valley and demand fire hydrants in our neighborhoods. Especially for as much money as we have to pay for our water.

It appears that this home was well off and essentially "gone" when Station 4 arrived. More water probably wouldn't have made much difference since even the initial attack was defensive in nature. Fortunately no humans or animals were injured...

We live right off Edenville rd..closer to the borough but not close enough to a hydrant..unless the fire dept is willing to lay 2 miles of hose..lol

Unless you make the call early on, it isn't likely a house could be saved the further out of town you get. YIKES!

But CONGRATS to "the BIG HOUSE" and the other depts for a conjoined effort in trying to save the house. Thank god everyone in the house was spared.

Bear Valley throws fits when fire depts. in their area (sta4, St.Thomas, etc.) attempt to use their water for fires. BV is a joke. Wonder how they'd feel if the house on fire was one of their own.

hey lets call ty and the gang then we'd be a week away from a new home. I am glad I live in franklin county when trouble comes there are so many willing to help. Keep up the good work and maybe a $$ center can be started at a local bank, sometimes cash is one size fits all.

it is such a shame they lost there home. do they know what caused it? do they have kids that would need clothes? i hope they had insurnce on the home even though there are things that can never be replaced. My thought and prayers are with the family in this time of need. Now this is a family that truely does deserve the communities help.
