Take away the illegal workers, mandate a working society, and you would once again reach an equilibrium. Those who want more will earn it, those who do not have the drive or aptitude will not. You historic rference to workers in squalid conditions is no more based on current OSHA standards.
The mass illegal immigration in our society has a drastic negative effect on our uneducated. Where a man, who was uneducated, could learn a trade and make a living has been drastically undercut by illegals working for low wages. These low wages are excellent for the illegals, based on Mexico's wages, but does not even compare to the cost of living standards for uneducated Americans. Therefore, the illegals have eliminated an entire work group classification, which is now an additional drain on taxpayers resources. Cause and effect.
The sad truth is this, most Americans are compassionate when it comes to the plight of illegals. I firmly believe that the main argument against illegal immigration, besides the drain of social resources, is that entire country, Mexico, firmly believes that it is their "right" to encroach on our nation and demand the same benefits as legal US citizens. As a white American, it angers me that the hispanic population can label me as a racist for speaking out, but in turn supports illegal immigration based on one fact alone...the vast majority of illegals are hispanic. I firmly believe if the vast majority of illegals were African, the hispanics would be up in arms and the NAACP would be screaming racism (not that they already don't).
Instead of racism, why don't we call it statistics.

You are so blind as well as some others that post here. It appears you look at the Mexicans as being the immigration issue when there are other immigration issues that are slipping through the crack while you blame it on the Mexicans that come to America to make a living.
How many Chinese, Russicans, Indian, Muslims Vietnamese are fighting for America when you compare there numbers to Mexicans?
We fought the Chinese in Korea and Russians in Vietname and Korea. The Indians have a nuclear bomb and bring with them their religion which is contrary to the Christrian religion this country was founded on. What about the Musims? Yes, the same people that are killing our soldiers in the Middle East. How rich they are getting at our expense. The fastest growing religion in America is the Muslim faith.

If your local schools had to stop teaching your kids in spanish for half the day to teach in broken French, you would scream your ass off that your kids were being denied a proper education so that the illegal haitians could be taught. But since it is hispanics crossing the border, it is completely ok for you to be vocal for it.
The simple fact is that the vast, overwhelming majority of illegals are Mexican. Thus, Mexicans will receive the blunt of the criticism. It is not racist to speak out against the obvious.

Maybe I didn't make it clear enough in my earlier post. The vast majority of illegal immigrants are Mexican. Can you dispute this? Human nature tells us to plug the biggest whole first, or take care of the biggest threat first. If the damn is busted, you plug the biggest whole and then move on to the next.

I am fully aware of the other illegal immigrants and I fully believe that they should be deported. But, not only is the hispanic population the vast majority, they are also the most vocal. Thus, they will receive the largest backlash. See the difference?

While you are at it, please tell me what country, nation, territory, or providence on earth today is inhabited and governed by it's indigenous people. What country would that be?

Yes they did give back those lands... but who really controls them. What was it that they did(Europeans/U.S.) to a vast majority of the continent (Africa)?...
