Using E-verify is a choice that an employer can make and should make. Big fines for those who do not make the right choices are in order.
I don't know what E-verify is... but if it's a way of checking legal status then by all means, enforce it!!!

But I do agree... steep fines for those who employ illegals! While not tying the hands of employers to find out if they are legal or not.

Enough of those employers who hire groups of illegals knowingly!!
In northern Mi... many of our resorts have been busted hiring & housing illegals. Enough is enough!!!

ALIPAC RED ALERT!

AMNESTY WARNING. PLEASE TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION.

We have just learned that sellout Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Larry Craig (R-Idaho) have successfully inserted the "Ag Jobs" amnesty components into a defense spending bill.

This amendment has been accepted by the Senate Appropriations Committee and has been added to an Iraq War spending bill.

They could vote on the spending bill today or tomorrow. If the bill passes with this language included it will grant a form of AMNESTY to millions of illegal aliens working on farms.

Take immediate action.

1. Call Dianne Feinstein and Larry Craig and give their staff an earful within reason. Follow-up your call with an e-mail or fax.

2. Call both of your US Senators immediately. If you get a voicemail, leave a message. Tell your Senators NO AG JOBS AMNESTY! NO DEFENSE SPENDING BILL WITH AG JOBS IN IT! Make sure you call, and immediately send a written complaint after calling.

3. Then proceed to call as many other members of the US Senate as possible with the same message. Call them all if you can.

We need a strong and immediate reaction from across the nation to this move by Feinstein and Craig!

Article with details.

If by a fluke you find out your s.s.# has been hijacked, don't expect s.s. department to do much.
They hand you a piece of paper that verifies your
number. It is your job to contact the employer where the low life works, with all info.My son was lucky
the low life had only been using his number since March.

The Dept. of Immigration is so corrupt and backlogged they cannot handle the legal applicants let alone 30 million illegal ones. Is the attitude, who cares if they are Americanized? Politicians need voters and business needs cheap labor! Has citizenship been reduced to a goddamn piece of paper?
Do we really want a third world class in our country? Should America turn itself into disgraceful hellhole just so the politically correct can impose their elitist will on the last remnant of free-thinking, first world Americans?
If the Constitution is just a goddamn piece of paper, by who's authority do we submit to as citizens? Immigration law is Federal, but the government doesn't enforce that goddamn piece of paper. Are we headed for anarchy or a Mexican-style, TOTALLY CORRUPT, laws are a goddamn piece of paper third world nightmare?
Why not just close the Department of Social Services (Welfare) and reassign those folks to Immigration & Naturalization. They already know whose illegal, because they've been servicing most of them already.;-) Should speed up the backlog, as the illegals are quickly deported or self-deport if there's no more benies through welfare. If the DPSS folks have never seen the name, put in in the "consider" pile of applications. If they've been receiving benefits, they're just leeches and need to go quick.

We have all the laws we need to take care of the illegal immigration problem. The problem we can not seem to take care of is that the laws are not enforced.LOCK and LOAD may also have to apply to out politicians both Dems.and Repubs.because neither will act!!!Maybe if enough of us sent e.mail enough will it be noticed?? Doubtful as at least--not yet!!!We know voting independent will cost us a vote.It seems the best we can do is go for McCain and hope. Hillery and Obams do not seem to go this way.

This is ridiculous. What is wrong with enforcing the law. Mexico wouldn't put up with illegals for one minute. Mexican immigrants? How about illegal aliens that need to be deported? Immigrants are and always will be welcome. These alien workers have been allowed in order to break the back of labor in this country. It is as simple as that. There is always a struggle in ensure that people get fair wages and safe working conditions. We are losing ground because the government and big business are sitting back and laughing while we argue about homosexual marriage and abortion. While these issues are important, we should be focusing on maintaining a decent standard of living, birth control, and not allowing this country to slide into a third world cesspool. I don't care if Mexicans assimilate or not. If they are not here legally, there is a nefarious reason it has been allowed. It has to stop.

Mo. lawmakers approve anti-illegal immigrant bill
Published: 5/16/08, 11:05 PM EDT
By CHRIS BLANK
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo (AP)- Missouri lawmakers gave final approval Friday to a bill that adds new restrictions and requirements for illegal immigrants, the cities in which they live and the businesses that employ them.

The bill would require people to prove they are U.S. citizens or are legally in the country when applying for food stamps, housing and other public benefits; penalize businesses that knowingly hire illegal immigrants; order the Missouri State Highway Patrol to seek special federal immigration training; and bar Missouri cities from refusing to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

The measure also allows fines of up to $50,000 for some employers who misclassify their workers as "contractors" instead of "employees." It would apply to businesses with at least five employees performing public works. When workers are contractors, employers don't have to pay withholding taxes, provide other benefits or take responsibility if the worker is an illegal immigrant.

The House approved the measure 136-12 on Friday; the Senate followed suit with a 27-7 vote, sending it to Republican Gov. Matt Blunt, who has made passing the legislation a priority.

He said Friday that lawmakers had passed "an extraordinarily strong bill."

Is Illegal Immigration Making You Sick? Literally?

The unchecked flow of illegal border-hoppers from the south is washing over us like a Texas flash flood. It negatively impacts our bottom line, greatly compromises our security, and erodes our national identity… but what nobody's talking about is how serious a public health issue it is.

They're trying to cheat the system, but in the end, you're the one who pays. Maybe you don't know this, but all immigrants who want to qualify for their green cards have to go through a thorough testing process. Basically, they have to prove that they don't have any contagious diseases or drug addictions.

Do you have any idea how rampant diseases are in Third World countries that don't have the same sanitary conditions and health care available to them? Our screening process is in place to keep us all safe. Whether people choose to accept it or not, the truth is that too many of the illegals who "bypass" this testing process are coming into this country with more than just their "dream of a better life"-they're also bringing very contagious, and sometimes very deadly, diseases.

Every "legal" citizen on this post (past and present) hopefully will make their voices heard in the upcoming election, and not just on this post. Not just at the national level, but at your state and local levels! Make sure these traitorous, spineless judges, mayors, congressmen and women, state representatives and governors are not re-elected to office! It's time to make "all" our government officials understand that this is the "United States of America" and that we are the "American People" that they are commissioned to serve! Not the "Illegal" criminal entities that are being "Allowed" (for now) to have any voice or rights in this country! It is time that the "American People" MAKE them listen and enforce our "IMMIGRATION LAWS"! Not re-write them to suit the criminals! We need to inundate these officials with letters, e-mails and what ever other form of transmittal available, to confirm our disgust with their tolerance of and giving validity to this criminal element. To provide the funds and officers that will allow the ICE to perform their task effectively. That is...To remove these criminals from among us. Not support them in a prison (at the taxpayers expense), not give them amnesty, but deport them (deeply) back to their country of origin expediently. Set up ICE officers at every community hospital, every Home Depot & Lowe's, every day labor place that these criminals congregate!
If one has come into this country legally, then they have nothing to worry about. If they want to assimilate and become a contributing law abiding member of this society and nation...Welcome! Otherwise, the only right they deserve, is to be treated humanely as they are being deported. Period!
No more employers requiring a prospective employee to be bi-lingual! No more tax free, interest free government loans, for foreigners to come to this country to start a business, when our own citizens that own a business can't get the same help from this government! No more free health care, when our elderly, our veterans are getting their benefits cut! A person who wants to enter this country illegally may not be able to fly in very easily, but they can sure drive or walk in with out any effort.

I agree with you 100%. I may not live on the border, but I do watch live news reports showing empty antibiotic containers, left by illegals entering our country. It's outrageous!
