You are a bond-fide freaking idiot! Can't you just use your tiny mind for one minute and THINK about the larger implications!

Priscilla is right about the chill pill, except she's the one that needs to take it.

Maybe Priscill is a close relative to Gov Blohard, or Crook County pres Steve Urkle.

I guess that if the tollway authority screwed up and and she got a bill for several hundred dollars for a screw up she would just take a chill pill and forget all about. It sounds like she should be in state politics, screw the common people and when they revolt, tell them to take a chill pill.

if they only steal a lil bit per car does it add up.........isnt that how slot machine works
But slot machines aren't stealing... we're all willingly pumping our money in there knowing our chances of winning are slim. We should be able to have a little faith in 40 cents coming out of our toll... and of course we can't. I love Chicago and I will move back one day, but Illinois sucks. I voted for Vallas!

this is just a plain and stupid situation. It was 30 CENTS. If it were 30 DOLLARS, it would be different!!!!! Send your address, I will send you 30 CENTS.

Very good article on government thinking. So for everyone who wants free national health care, imagine going through this every time you visit a doctor (not your own, just any doctor). Imagine all of the rude and indifferent postal employees now handling your doctor's visits? Knowing that they cannot be fired and if you don't like it, leave.

You know Priscilla, it's exactly that attitude that makes stupidity like this toll ripoff possible. And when your car gets caught in a "Photo Enforced" intersection yet you were somewhere else but now rather than 30cents the fine is now $100.00 would that make this worth fighting over?

Or when a relative or friend is charged with murder because his ex who he had a difficult divorce with is found dead (and a transponder error places him close to the scene) is that worth the fight?(This one actually has happened)

No, you don't pick your fights, they come to pick you. Just *hope* it's 30 cents or try to fix the wrong.

I once received a ticket in the mail for not having my car sticker in my windshield which I had purchased and displayed corner right a month before. I called city hall and they said just to bring the receipt to the hearing and the ticket will be forgiven.
I was surprised to find the room full of murmuring people, telling each other how surprised they were to have gottne this ticket when they've always bought theirs' on time, yaddayadda. When it's my turn to go up to the judge, I showed him my reciept and he looked over the rim of his glasses and said:
" Well, why did you keep the sticker in your glove compartment, then?"
I was aghast! I said I didn't and I put it on as soon as I left the currency exchange I bough it at. He looked over at me again and said, " If that were the case, you wouldn't have gotten the ticket then would you?"
I had to pay the fine. So did everyone else in line.
One woman who was near tears and had a stack of receipts she had through the years showing she bought them all at the same time every year was dismissed. One person out of a room full of people with receipts. They are crooks and bullies.
I repeat, they are ALL crooks.

I remember I got a notice from the Illinois Tollway to pay $50 because I blew a toll pass four years ago. The kicker was I was in Boot Camp in Great Lakes at the time and my car was in my parent's garage. I called them up and we managed to have this settled without paying a fine.

I agree. It may be thirty cents, but next time it could be $50 or maybe $250. And with the economy these days, every nickle and dime counts.

How about this- how about we charge the Illinois Tollway Authority a fine every time a user finds this kind of accidental charge on their statement? Paid directly to the person who was charged the incorrect amount in the first place. This way, people will check their statements and be compensated for the inconvenience of the IPASS failing to do what it is intended to, and of course, overcharging for the service of using the toll-roads. I bet the monthly statements would be amazingly accurate going forward.

Forget this. how about me getting charged 60 dollars fine for missing 3 tolls in 10 months. 80 cent toll, $20 fine per time. This is usury an should be illegal ESPECIALLY since no where NO WHERE is there any notification or sign stating you will be fined 700% fine if you do not pay your toll. Please someone .. sue this friggin IDOT and I will join you

IPASS is the greatest thing that ever happened to Tollway users. I'll gurantee 90% of these comments are from negative balance IPASS account holders and plain old deadbeats. If you ignore your notices, the violations escalate. The Tollway prints everything in black and white. 3.5 million IPASS users and some lady had an incorrect $.30 charge. Big deal! If the government itemized your tax dollars as well as IPASS itemizes your tolls, you'd all be in padded cells. Grow up people...

I applaud this woman to fight the system based on priciple. I was fined $30 for a "parking violation" but when I received a notice referring to the state taking possession of my car and the threat of inprisonment, decided it wasn't worth the trouble to contest it. Looking forward to the new 24 hours meters, including Sunday and holidays, in Chicago?
