There are 199 comments on the The Guardian story from Jan 3, 2013, titled Letters: The Falklands and self-determination. In it, The Guardian reports that:

New negotiations on the Falklands are apparently ruled out because their future "can only be decided by the islanders in accordance with the UN principle of self-determination" . Can we expect the government to follow the same principle on the rights of the Chagos people in relation to their Diego Garcia home? They are British citizens, roughly the ... (more)

Quite priceless, so it was purely just the British that has to take the blame for your expansionism in Patagonis, is the government not an extension of it's people?.

Another laughable quote from a deluded Malvenista.

I notice you didn't answer my question regarding the integrity issue.

I wait in hope

Malv, just for you I will repeat what the Secretary General of the UN Mr. Ban Ki-Moon said to an Argentine newspaper on 12th November 2012 when being asked about the forthcoming Falklands referendum:'People who are living under certain conditions should have access to certain level of capacities so that they can decide on their own future.'

Sounds like 'Self Determination.'

Malv, Malv, Malv Malv, Malv....deary me. Now listen up.. when one of your brothers in arms writes one of the most stupid comments I have heard..'the British were responsible for the Patagonian Invasion and murders...or similar' you call me stupid for pointing it out.

Come on Malv, play the game old chap. If you think you can stand by such a ridiculous comment made by your fellow Argentinian with your head held high and defend it, then you really are a lost cause. I am not into insulting people, I beleive every one is entitled to their own views, bur sometimes, with such stupid comments, you got to wonder.

The final word will be left to the Falkland Islanders but before they vote next month everbody should be happy enough hearing the words of the Secretary General of the UN on the forthcoming referendum:

If self-determination is illegal according to Argentina, what a great time to make an application to the ICJ to quash the referendum. Oh!Oh! better not because the issue of sovereignty would be examined, and we all know who would lose that issue. So Argentines failure even at this late junction is a clear indication yet again that she has no credible claim.

Those resolutions are merely advisements, simply requests without any lawful authority. The UK has the right and therefor support of international law on her side. Which is a bit like having God in your corner. They can happily tell you to go and fly the old proverbial kite, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. That must make you ever so happy, how do like those apples, loser.

All the thieves are in the same boat, or island. Of course they want to keep their stolen properties.
The Argentinians should start droning them out!

what balls r u talking bout, dumbass,Argentina is a country that was made by the hard work of decent inmigrants and natives,we did nt need to sack and steal other countries from their resourses.
If we must talk bout the pirats, that imperialist and genocide country would nt even exist if they had nt go all over the world invading and exploiting other countrys.
Even during the industrial revolution they worked their own children to death.would uk be something at all if they had nt invade India, exploited indians as slaves and steal the natural resourses?????it s an extense list of other countrys they invaded too and the UN nation never said a word bout it.

The 3,000 Falkland Islanders do have the right to self determination under the UN Charter - this was confirmed by the Secretary General of the UN Mr. Ban Ki-Moon last November.
Cristina needs to concentrate a bit more on home politics and try and dodge that IMF Red Card which is coming before the end of the month.
Now if I was a Falkland Islander I would want NOTHING to do with Argentina - can you blame them?
Kelpers are nt legal inhabitants ,they r invators.
As for where would they want to live,it ll be a complicated decition, considering that the muslims are overruning uk, and u fucking gutless idiots cant do shit bout it.so instead of sacking other country s wealth uk should grow some balls and raise their country with hard work and nt with stolen resourses.

Ooooooh ana,

oooooh yes you did "steal other countries"...

The Conquest of the Desert... The argentine Amerindians are still fighting for their rights - they have never given up.
Even the United Nations have attempted to persuade argentina to do the right thing and stop persecuting the real owners of argentina..

You stole Patagonia from the Chileans...

The war of the Triple Alliance..

I'll grant you that Britain, just like Spain were no saints, and never denied these things..

Unlike argentina..

If you believe me to be wrong, then get up off your butt and show everybody in the world how wrong they are..

Can you do that..?
