I wonder how long it took Ruberto to write this article. You got to admit the man has a great sense of humor.

I like the part where he sees himself as knight errant, roaming around the country (raping and pillaging). Looks like Pittsfield has an opening for the next con-artist.

Mayor Jimmy Ruberto raised taxes above the rate of inflation for the past 8 years making it harder for fixed income poor and low income working class people to get by. Many hundreds of job losses in Pittsfield. Many hundreds of welfare caseloads in Pittsfield. Teen pregnancies in Pittsfield double the statewide average. North Street is still a place to avoid if one is a rational person. The Good Old Boys ruled Pittsfield with an iron fist. Ruberto had Nuciforo swear him in one year. Ruberto appointed Carmen Massimiano to various city boards. Ruberto did not tolerate dissent.

Ruberto made living in Pittsfield a far better place than hell to live in. And he managed to do this in spite of driving many people out of their homes with exorbitant tax increases year after year. Couple this with irresponsible spending and shoveling money to friendly special interests and you have a smuck who shat upon the populace for personal monetary gain.

To the very end, The Berkshire Eagle protects this ineffectual political hack.
Remember too, the Eagle editors did the same for Gerry Doyle.
Pathetic tax-and-spend Democrats and their enablers in the local media.

Some very perceptive individual on the Valenti blog referred to Ruberto as "that little toad". That pretty much sums up the guy top to bottom.

program for asskissers to Pittsfield officially unethical dirty rotten baboons ass of a mayor. Barrett, first Pittsfield's taxpayers were forced to support a snowjob by the mayor for his friend in need, then Barrett allegedly spent four months of Pittsfield's taxpayer money investigating an alleged fraud in the water dept., and allegedly came to the conclusion that an alleged fraud had taken place and yet no one was arrested for this alleged fraud by city employee[s]. So was this a cover up of a crime right in city hall? Pittsfield's baboons ass of a mayor continued to force taxpayer's too support Barrett because we were so lucky to have this ass-et ass-isting Pittsfield's officially unethical dirty rotten baboons ass. Farley Bouvier appointed to a questionable/non-essential? job. Councilor Yon's ugly husband appointed to another questionable job, along with the questionable question of why. Pittsfield's taxpayers were also lucky enough to be forced to subsidize a jewel of an teen beer blast eatery run by the fine upstanding Chungs, yes the same Chungs who are facing insurance fraud charges. There's certainly more to thank Ruberto for but I need another drink right now.

"Ruberto made city a far better place"
What exactly does that mean?
Taxes in the city are higher; the brightest minds are leaving the city; city officials are sending their kids to schools outside the city; real estate values are either static or in decline; the level of industrial poisons in the city environment are still off the charts; Ruberto himself got cited by the State Ethics Commission for stupidity; Ruberto failed to investigate skulduggery within the city water department; Ruberto failed to tackle the matter of widespread illegal drug use amongst city employees; Ruberto wasted city resources hiring John Barrett III to do that which could've been done by people already on city payroll; Ruberto, rather than cut back on wasteful city spending, added to it.
If all that is making the city a far better place, then what warped standard is being used as a measure of performance?

And the Ruberto path of destruction continues. It's only June and a fireman has prevailed in his lawsuit against the city and a lawsuit against the city by a drug clinic is nearly complete with a settlement offer expected soon.
