An honest question.
Why haven't, er, why can't blacks assimilate into American society like the the hundreds of other cultures that have emigrated to the USA?
Prior to LBJ's "great society" of entitlement-based enslavement for democratic power, the black family was a model of dignity, hard work, and upward mobility. Since then, they've plummeted, the black family is a sham, and inner cities are pits of hopelessness and ruin.
Meanwhile, they remain enslaved on the democrat plantation of entitlement enslavement and hopelessness, and will forever be so.
The democrats are smart, and obviously smarter than the blacks they've enslaved.
Democrat plantation. You got that right!

We did. That's why it's called History.

Blacks attend the same schools in the same neighborhoods. If blacks did not drop out of high school at a rate 50 times higher than Whites, then there might just be a few more black CEO's.

Blacks have the same voting privilege as Whites.
Shouldn't Greek and Gay history month be together? I'm just saying....

"Negro" is not an outdated term, nor is it a slur. It is simply a Portuguese word for black, which they had chosen for themselves. In the course of my life, the Negro has changed their identity often. This includes Negro, colored, coloured, Jet, Ebony, black and today as African-American. But why African-American? Many have been in the U.S. for several hundred years, and can not speak a word of their "mother tongue". Very few can name just 4 Countries of Africa. Many that does try to "return to their roots" will speak in Swahili, which makes no sense because very few have came from East Africa.
Yes, I am a racist. I can clearly see the differences between our races. I understand the differences of our cultures, heritage and values. To pretend otherwise does nothing but fool one's self.
Millions of dollars every year is donated and many laws are passed to preserve a species of animal. Yet people ignore that fact that our race is becoming extinct at an alarming rate, and some such as yourself is urging on this extinction.
That playground that you take your child; that burn center and cancer research center you see caring for the young and impoverished regardless of race or ability to pay; the community center that you celebrate with your community... There is a very good chance that they were funded/constructed by the Ku Klux Klan.
The laws in place that keep you safe on the roads against DUI drivers, the laws that demand strict penalties for spouse and child abuse...These were demanded and enacted through the Ku Klux Klan.
The Bus driver that takes your child to school and the teacher that teaches them; The doctor and nurse that tends to your health or the truck driver that delivers the goods to your favorite store; the janitor you say goodnight to or the waitress who pours your morning coffee... These are the Klansmen and Klanswomen.

Just to deal with this first, obvious falsehood, you are ALLOWED to post your drivel here despite being reported as a hate poster. The Topix people are in no way Constitutionally OBLIGATED to let you post here. It is a privately-owned commercial site.

Shameful that the Constitution is so fondly cited by a racist pig like you. You are antithetical to everything it represents, and everthing America at its best represents. You are a throwback to an earlier, uglier, nastier America which is happily long-dead.

As you should be.

I'm glad we're having an intelligent discussion about race here. Your comment is interest "Yet, whenever the White Race honors and celebrates the accomplishments and sacrifices by our own race, it is considered "racist", politically incorrect, etc...."
Growing up, I only learned of White European accomplishments. I was shocked to learn that Blacks had many accomplishments too. It wasn't taught in our schools. What you are seeing today is a backlash against a time when Whites dominated everything, and non whites had no say. It's a backlash against whites, and it won't last forever. We're evolving as a nation in so many ways. You've also seen a backlash against Welfare recipients, and anyone on the dole also. People didn't used to feel angry about people getting government help until it was abused. Whites history was okay until it was rammed down people's throats and no other race was included. We're at a time in history where everyone needs to be inclusive, and we need to stop hating each other's races. There's nothing wrong with White pride or Black pride, as long as we remember that we're humans first and race is merely a skin color. What we're really celebrating is cultural pride.

In all honesty, I remain confused as to what the Tea Party and the Occupy Wall Street movements are trying to accomplish, for the individuals on both sides have conflicting agendas and ideologies. The best that I can figure out is that they are upset that their political parties have deviated from their core values to a point where there lacks any significant difference between the Republicans and the Democrats, and they are trying to re-establish these core values.
Now for race;
Our Race is our identity. It identifies who we are, who our ancestors were, where we originated and who our descendants will be. Our Race identifies our culture, our heritage and our lineage. There is a comfort to be among one's own flesh, even if they are strangers. This is because of a bond that exists among those of our own flesh.
Everyone should be proud of their race, and they should honor and remember the sacrifices and accomplishments of their ancestors and live in a manner that their children would be proud to do the same. On this same note, no race should be denied this Right, which is why there exists black history month, latino heritage month, native American heritage month, etc.... Even the schools, government and businesses will join in the festivities.
Yet, whenever the White Race honors and celebrates the accomplishments and sacrifices by our own race, it is considered "racist", politically incorrect, etc.... Because of these double standards, having such programs of recognition in place divides the Nation rather than uniting it.

When you say America was founded and built by the white race, then why did the white race even need slaves? Slaves helped build this nation also. They did it with their lives broken, no rights, and no choice. The first slaves were actually the Irish, but they could run away and no one would ever know they were ever slaves. So Blacks were easier to spot. Our history is very selective about what it wants to teach. I never knew a black man invented the first traffic signal, or the filament in a light bulb. I knew all of this nation's founding fathers were white, and that many of those whites had slaves. Some blacks had slaves, but the number is so small it's almost comical to mention it. Besides, the rights of Blacks could be taken away at will. The law was in the hands of the White males who wouldn't even allow women the same rights. You may not want black history rammed down your throat, I agree. But I also believe history should be inclusive of all who have contributed to this nation, not just a select few.
Virginia Jim wrote:

American History is American History. There is no need or purpose to teach it based on the race, sexual preferences, gender, etc....
Of course people have an interest on learning of the accomplishments and sacrifices by those they relate to, and there is no shortage of such references available. But to force a White student to memorize a common product solely because the inventor was black is racism and promotes it as such.
Another "gripe" about forced black history is because the teachings are selective. Never is it mentioned that blacks also owned slaves, or that it was a black man named Anthony Johnson who brought slavery for life to America. And for the teachings of a particular black is selective as well, such as in the case of Frederick Douglass. History teaches that he was the first black in Congress. But what is often omitted is that he was not voted in, but was placed in the position during the Reconstruction as "a cruel joke against those Confederate Rebels".(The people of the South were not permitted to vote during the Reconstruction Era). Nor is his adulterous nature mentioned which destroyed the lives of many black homes, nor is his calls to mob against Whites taught. And just as obama is considered "black" even though he is mulatto, Frederick was also mulatto, whose father was White.
America was founded and built by the White Race, and the U.S. population of the White Race even today is 72%, more than all other races, ethnics & origins combined. The Framers of our Constitution and our American Forefathers were White. The culture, laws and traditions of America reflects this. This is why American History is predominantly White.
There is a difference between the races other than skin color. This difference is so acute that not only are we considered a different species,(except when political correctness is common, then it's identified as "race" or "ethnicity") but many scientists argue that we should be considered as a different genus altogether. A person's race can be determined by a single tooth. This could not be possible if the only difference was skin color.
A toy poodle and a great Dane are both dogs. But they are different.

The slavery you described for 6 years did not apply to Blacks. They were slaves for life. Garrett Morgan's traffic signal was not patented, but his safety hood was. He turned it over to a white man for credit because he could not get the patent in his name. You did not answer why slaves were necessary at all. This nation was also built by slaves, but history books give all credit to Whites who were in power at that time. History books are also published by whites. That says a lot. I didn't see any mention of anything accomplished by non whites. No wonder Whites think Blacks aren't able to do anything creative. And when Blacks did anything, only Whites could be credited. You also don't mention that Jim Crow laws continued well into the 1960's. Blacks were second class citizens in southern states for years after slavery ended. Sitting on the back of the bus and not using a public restroom was a way of life for Blacks in the 1960's. They didn't even think about eating in a public restaurant. Blacks couldn't get served. In 1960's Cleveland Ohio, public television showed Blacks wouldn't get waited on in Downtown stores. Equality? Whites have had it good.

Slavery prior to 1652 was indentured servitude regardless of where they came or their race. They labored for 6 years, then they were freed (6 years was chosen because it is instructed by the Bible). Most was in this position either because they could not afford to migrate, and plantation owners would fund the trip in exchange for servitude. Others were sentenced to indentured servitude by the courts, usually as a punishment for theft. Africa sold their prisoners/captured "enemies" rather than sentencing them to death.(This spared their life, it helped the African economy, and it provided labor. a win-win-win arangement).

Wrong, "you should be" doesn't mean I want you dead. And it's not about my disagreement, but the vile, hateful nature of your beliefs.
You want me to be censored, and your desire to do so is so strong that you "report" every post that I make; yet you demand that your right to do so remains uninfringed.
I have reported your violation of the TOS on this privately-operated board. If they don't choose to do anything, that's their call. If they ban you...or me, for that matter...it's also their call. Not a matter of "rights," the kind that racists like you hide behind.
I support the Constitution in its entirety for all U.S. Citizens; yet you want me to be excluded of the very Constitution written by our forefathers and that of which I have sworn to defend as a Soldier of the US Army and as a Klansman.
A feeble lie. You do not support equal rights for all Americans, a fact you've made plain. And your oath as a Klansman has nothing to do with the U.S. or its honorable military, and you discredit both by pretending otherwise.
You call me a "throwback from an earlier time"' yet I exist here in this current age, and we will continue to do so far into the future.
Which doesn't make you any less of a throwback, of course....
You may benefit greatly from psychological help in controlling your anger issues. But the first step in recovery is to acknowledge that you have a problem with it.

BTW: "Privately owned commercial site" is an oxymoron as Commercial means (in this case) accessible for public use.
Absurd, since it is the private (presumably corporate) ownership which MAKES it publicly available - on their own terms, which you violate with practically every post.
