Why does the staff leave out information? They did not write all of the facts, and made Monte look like it was his fault when he was cleared! Did they take any information from the DOT? I do not read nothing here. They took a small sentence and turned it around to make it look like something else in the 2nd paragraph, last sentence. Hell, I am not surprised, they did not even get my cousin's husband's wreck correct either with information and left out parts.

Hey Michele, was this the Monte Lyons who used to be a cop and judge, or someone else? Is he OK? I knew Monte and his wife before I left there and hope he's OK. I knew him well enough to know this will upset him but hopefully he's at least uninjured. From your post I'm gathering the toxicology was clean? I'd have been very surprised otherwise. Thanks.

Kevin was an amazing friend and will be missed so much. My thoughts and prayers to Sue, his children, parents and extended family. So hard to believe he is gone. Words cannot express my sympathy ...

No, it doesn't. Sorry, I guess, but I'm not whoever you're looking for. I've heard there are several of us ex-Carlsbadians in this area but haven't met any of them.

I feel awful for this guys family but why is there such a big write up about him...Current Argus doesn't do that with everyone...I don't in any way think that he doesn't deserve to be mentioned, I am just curious why so much info on him?

I've been told by a police officer that in making a left turn, in the event of an accident the driver making said left turn is almost always cited. This is the same as the driver whose vehicle collides with another from behind. The driver who hits from behind is almost always cited at fault. My sympathy to the family of the deceased. And knowing Monty, I know he is in his own agony. What an awful situation for all concerned.

He has not been cleared and the report from the lab wont be back for another week from Albuq. And Monte did pull out in front that why there was no skid marks.I worked with Monte and Linda during the days of his ambulance service an I hope his lab comes out clean and that he had not been drinking. He use to be a heavy drinker.

I have known Monte over 15 years and I really do hope that all comes back clear. I worked with him when was with the ambulance service and a police department in the 80s. I wish both familes healing and prayers.

Anytime a left turn is made, it is the responsibility of that driver to ensure that the opposing lane is free of oncoming traffic. In this case, the opposing lane was not clear, thus the turn should not have been made. This was a terrible accident which cost the Udy family a father/husband/brother and will also cause damage to the Lyons family. One brief error in judgement caused so great a tragedy. How important it is to always be aware and cautious while driving. My heart goes out to both families.
