I think time just proved she *wasn't* correct. BTW, a list of now-dead AIDS denialists can be found here:

Christine Maggiore is a Hero to humanity. when flu shots and the flu itself will cause one to have a false positive on the hiv test according to a 2006 New England Journal of Medicine report, we should all be doing what she did by asking questions about what we have been told about hiv testing and the AIDS Syndrome. common drug screening tests are the same used to identify proteins for the hiv test according to wikipedia. a person will be diagnosed hiv positive with the presence of 1, 2, or 3 proteins depending on which country they test in. the inventor of the pcr viral load testing says that it does not identify the presence of virus, but rather only cellular debris and protein matter. research fraud has been uncovered in many hiv research labs in the united states. the leading cause of death for those diagnosed with AIDS is now organ failure due to toxic hiv drugs as reported in many journal articles. find out more at

Ridiculous Title

As an HIV positive person, I find this article absolutely disgusting.

Definition of debunk from Merriam-Webster's Dictionary: "to expose the sham or falseness of".
Is "The Herald" endorsing the ridculous ideas of AIDS denialists?

Read the article. The ludicrous nature of her ideas is obvious. The woman died from pneumonia at 52. Pneumonia is an AIDS-defining illness and the number one killer of HIV+ people NOT on anti-retrovirals. The average life expectancy for a white woman in the US is well 80 years. I guess she had too much "stress" in her life, or too many common viral infections, or too much alcohol and crystal meth...maybe she should have followed the advice of the former Health Minister in South Africa who claimed that olive oil, garlic and lemon juice could cure HIV??? or maybe she should have tried AZT instead?

Concerning her daughter, the clinical manifestations of a 3 year dying from AIDS-related pneumonia and an allergic reaction to an antibiotic are painfully obvious. Any "medical testimony" from a doctor who serves on her nut-job organization's board should be rejected by the court as partial testimony. However, "the jury" is by definition still out on the issue of her daughter's death. But, even if the proximate cause of the daughter's death were an antibiotic, it should be noted that HIV+ people experience much more severe allergic reactions to medicines than do HIV- people. Also, the percentage of HIV+ people having allergic reactions to antibiotics is much higher than the general population. It is revolting to me that this woman killed her own daughter by not only refusing her the appropriate medical treatment for HIV because of her psychotic medical beliefs, but also by ACTIVELY working AGAINST the best interests of her daughter: Maggiore refused to take anti-retrovirals during pregnancy which EMPIRICALLY have been shown to reduce the risk of mother-child transmission to less than 2% AND Maggiore breast-fed her daughter, a well-known and again EMPIRICALLY-documented vector of HIV transmission. The woman should have been prosecuted by the State of California while still alive.

In a vibrant democracy, it is important to let everyone have their opinions and present them for examination in a general and public forum. Maybe she pointed out something important about HIV that medical professionals did not note. I highly doubt it though. The utility of presenting opposing ideas in a general and public forum is to weigh their veracity/truthfulness/objectiv ity, etc. Importantly, medical opinions should be judged "empirically" , not subjectively and according to half-baked assumptions and preconceived notions.

The general and public forum should duly reject this sad woman's exagerrated claims about HIV.
