There has been an apology. Your comment is uncalled for and clearly the most "hateful". Get back under your rock.

Where is the moderator for comments? Why is this "

This is what is called an accident, somebody made a poor decission and it turned out ugly. Now if the driver of the vehicle wasn't a PC daddy type the witch hunt and hanging jury would be screaming hang the teen because he/she had pot in the car or hang the trucker because the cops found something wrong that had no connection to the accident and the hanging jury would be cheering on the witch hunt.

I feel for the driver, his daughter and her mom who now lives with two people that where part of something so ugly because somebody ignored the rules and thought it would be ok to break them.

The dead woman made a poor choice and her friend didn't stop her so also has to live with her actions, but she probably wasn't somebody who spent enough time on the interstates to see the danger involved to know enough to tell her friend it isn't worth the risk involved.

It's sort of like the people that think doing 10 over the limit is ok because they are upstanding citizens and than some cop stops them and some bozo crashes into the stopped vehicles, 10 over ain't going to hurt nobody ends up being a dead cop and maybe also the people who thought 10 over wasn't dangerous.

you-tube has some nasty highway wrecks, the rules apply to everyone, obey them even if you believe you are a squeekly clean upstanding citizen and what you do won't hurt anyone. That woman trumatized a family over a cat who had better odds than her of crossing the road by the looks of it.

The trouble with posting messages is that sometimes it is too easy to hit the send button without thinking of how what you say will affect other people. My mother is the lady who was killed, and if there is one thing that she was, it was thoughtful and nonjudgemental and always tried to see the good in everyone. She loved animals so much that she would have had nightmares about that lost cat, and while I know that what she did was foolish, and I would like to be angry at her for it, I cannot. She was not trying to be a hero; she was trying, as she always did, to be a quiet force for good in this world. I am so sorry that Jason and his family will have to have this memory for the rest of their lives. And I am so sad that I will have to live without my mother and friend for the rest of mine. She will be terribly missed by all of her family and friends. I love you, Mom. I wish I'd said it more often.

I agree with you 100%. Your best bet is to not even read any comments and they can be vary hurtful to both sides.
God Bless you and your family.

If you are the victim's daughter, I am sorry for your loss, and I apologize for my earlier insensitivity. Clearly your mother had the best of intentions.

If anyone else wants to help a cat trying to cross the interstate, please call the state police and let them take care of it.

Thank you. My mother, the quiet unassuming woman that she was, would not want to be labeled a hero or villain...in fact, she didn't like attention at all and would hate the "fame" of being on the front page of the paper. And yes, I would hate for this to happen to any other family, so I would hope no one would try to get out of a car on a highway. Calling the police would be the better thing to do. Last, I must apologize for getting Jonathan's name wrong in my first post...it was late and I didn't remember it correctly. I am still feeling so terribly bad for him, and hope he heals, and doesn't feel anger toward my mother. I wish peace for everyone, as would my mom.

Kathy, knowing Jonathan and his family there is abosultely NO anger at all towards your mother Cynthia. This was an absolute accidental tragedy for everyone involved. FYI-They would love nothing more than to contact you but were advised not to. They are very caring people. Only time will heal the wounds of both of your families. God Bless.

To all who are so quick to pass judgement on the ac
tions of others ... I knew and worked with Cindy for many years, and I would be hard pressed to find a more loving and giving person to all people and animals. Of course my husband and I were horrified to be told of her death, but in just a few moments of learning the details I said to him
"I am not surprised, she did what she thought she
must." Our prayers are with Ray, Kathy, Cheryl, and their families

Knowing Jonathan and family hold no anger means so much to me. I wish the "authorities" were not so quick to "advise"--if I knew how to contact Jonathan, I would; I think it might help the healing begin for both of us. I cannot speak for my sister and father, but I think they would feel the same as me...

Honestly lets not attack anyone on the subject. This was nobody's FAULT. Cynthia was trying to save a life and it ended up costing her hers which is unfair - so please do not bash her. Jonathan is also a kind and compassionate man, and is not a reckless individual and it is unfair to him that this tragedy happened. This was truely a TRAGIC ACCIDENT. Please everybody be respectful to both families and just let this be and post no more comments as the faimilies DO see them. Both families know the situation and the details of what happened and it is not fair to hear "bashing" on either side. It is time for the families to begin their healing processes.

A word of advice, kid: Learn to express yourself more coherently, or people will assume you're some sort of angry semi-literate Republican. This isn't Facebook or a text message.

now it's a tragedy, but it really could've been much worse.. the lady could have caused an accident that killed completely innocent drivers or their family members while they're out doing their day to day business and all for what, a cat?!?!?! sorry a cat, dog, hell any animal is nowhere near as valuable as human life, and then the retard jway
But that's not what happened - so instead of spitting out hypotheticals - is there some real reason that if you can't just say - Sorry for your loss to the woman's family - that you can't just keep your mouth shut and not add to their pain??
