The Three Stooges in The 1983 World Series: Rick Dempsey, Rich Dauer, Todd Cruz.

He died tragically, very young, but at least Todd Cruz had his moment of glory when he was here. Thanks, Todd.

I never saw anyone throw a ball from 3rd to first with that much speed. He had a cannon arm, and came close to putting people in the stands in the hospital....but he was one hell of an O.

Thanks for the great memories Todd.

Very sad to hear this. I saw him at the 1983 World Series reunion game this year and he seemed truly touched to be a part of it. There was a real sincerity in his voice when he said he'd be an Oriole for life.

Looks like that promise didn't involve a long commitment.

Did junior high school get out early today?
Now that you're up to two immature and inane posts how about quitting for the day.

Todd Cruz will always be a Baltimore Oriole. Like Dave McNally, Mark Belanger, Curt Blefary and others, he left the realm of the living much too soon. Thanks for playing a major role in that magical 1983 season, Todd.

Another outstanding appreciation by Mike Klingaman. A much better read than most New York Times obituaries.

Get off of your Dads computer, kid. Disrespecting Cruz makes no sense, and shows your level of maturity.

Cruz was a good player and a good Oriole.

Too bad you werent on this earth when he played.

Maybe you would have appreciated him more.

Sad stuff. I remember him well, and was as surprised - and delighted - as everyone else in town when he turned out to be the real thing.

RIP.

What is your problem? Do the world a favor and go drink some Draino with antifreeze. Or get off Dad's computer and acquire a life.Todd was one of several role players on that great team that made it special, like Roenicke-Lowenstein-Ayala in left, unlike the 96-97 teams with guys like Bobby Bonilla and Rafael whats-his-name who couldn't score a single run for Mike Mussina when it mattered the most. To his family:very sorry for your loss and most of us from Baltimore RESPECT our guys.

Todd Cruz: a key member of a world champion Orioles team, and one of the "Three Stooges". His memory makes me smile, and I am sorry he left us at such a young age. He wasn't a hall of famer, but he was a true Oriole who tightened the infield at a crucial time, got some key hits, and played smart baseball.

Todd Cruz was a gamer, he reveled in the fact he was a World Champion Oriole. He loved his family and friends and was a jokester. I've played baseball with alot of talented people who thought they could of made it to the bigs, even after Cruz was out of his prime I've seen him make plays and throws from third to first few can make. The difference between a Pro like Todd Cruz and others is he could throw from one knee off balance with the more velocity than most can with their whole body behind the throw. God Bless you Todd, you will be missed.
