I had Dr. Neuberger for ECO101 in 1991 - my first semester at SUNY. He was an 'old soul' who truly enjoyed his work. RIP.

Prof. Neuberger was a true scholar - humble, with a gentle sense of humor, genuinely concerned about students, passionate about his material. I also had him as an economics professor at Stony Brook.

I was Egon's research assisstant when was in the doctoral program in economics at SUNY SBU in 1994-5. In fact mny father, who is also from Yugislavia, knew Egon from Harvard. He was a wonderful human being who was very caring with regard to students, unfortunatrely very much unlike some of his colleagues. He was a very humble and very decent human being, as in contrast to the other arrogant idot savants running around those halls, who could saolve equations but were incapable of conducting a conversation with another human. My mother passed away in the fall semester of 1995, and I had to return to New York City to take care oif matters, and Egon made sure that still received my RA pay even though I could not be around. I wanted to to write a dissertation under him, but unfortunately the jerk chairman of the department - also coordinator of the doctoral committee - would noty allow it because her did not deem Egon qualified (as my field was mathematical finance.) Partly because of that I left that departmet in disgust. When I heard that he passed away in 1997 it was terrible news, I sent my condloences to his wife Florence. They used to have me over to their house in the tiown of Stony Brook when I was a student, they were like family to me. He lives on in my memories.
