Years ago, western reports appeared, surprised by the great number of reported Red Chinese engineers & technologists being graduated from mainland Chinese Universities. Often at the bottom of such reports, curmudgeon blurbs were added that Red Chinese engineering education wasn't as advanced as western technology.

Earlier reports in many other areas of Chinese technology, plus this report, shows that Red Chinese education has been good & up to western standards.

Looks like CHina is really proud that some of their buildings are still standing 5 years after construction.

Builders in any country are proud when their buildings survive Earthquakes. Demeaning builders by deliberately not mentioning Earthquakes, shows your ego.

Because there is absolutely no corruption in China and all construction is well known for being made to a high standard, right?

That's why entire bridges can get knocked down by fireworks.

Tell me, how often do californian builders boast that their constructions lasted a whole 5 years in an earthquake zone?
