""Almost"" all the farmers in the area they are making more money selling their water, the oil and Natural gas industry offers for their water is just too good to pass up, they can make more money selling water.

That is why you see nothing growing in the farm fields and the surrounding area.

so what are you trying to say....that this is no longer america and if you own something you dont have the right to do with it what you want to...like make money.....yea.....its more profitable right now to sell your water than try and grow crops that nobody is willing to pay you for them what it cost to produce them so you are in the hole...whereas you can sell your water and kick back and stay home indoors and read topix all day and not have to go out and work in the hot sun all summer....sounds good to me...

The person is just stating a fact, but you have to put in your two cents just to see your comments. Get a life or are you to fat and have to sit all the time and respond on Topix and other forums?

nooo...i just got off because i work nites in the oilfields...a little bit tired and when i read stupid statements like this then it kind of pushes my buttons......especially since i own water rights that i sell to the oil companies.....better to work and sell them then try to make a living scratching the dry dirt....and no im not that fat....i get a lot of looks from the pretty ladies....so back away from your keyboard and put that big mac down and take a walk....will make your stretch pants fit better...

Otis runs low on water ALOT, if something isn't done soon Otis and all the surrounding areas will be out of water an Cbad will become a ghost town!
And I agree with the above post it is more lucrative to lease out water and oil rights then it is to grow our crops. I know this for a FACT!
