Awaiting pics from the newly forming Llonquimai cone @ the Palena volcanic group near melimoyu in the S. part of the central Chile arc.
This is something very new as it has only produced 5 Holocene cinder cones, & Melimoyu has not really been active much in the Holocene either.
The 1960 crustal relaxation event megathrust has had an interesting effect, it appears to have been not the usual runout vector.
Now also awaiting the eruption series from the recompression of the 2010 megathrust (Mw 8.8) in the N. part of the central Chile arc.
have a nice day: Ag
