Lack of snowpack means low stream flow in Ruidoso area
When the totals at Sierra Blanca's SNOTEL measurement site show all zeros, it means the winter didn't deliver enough snow, the drought is continuing and a meager runoff is projected for streams.

I think it might be best to have the river dry out for awhile, particularly if VOR Manager Lee refuses to post signs warning the public of its contamination. At least if it dries up, the bacteria might die off.

Last year there was a three mile stretch of the Ruidoso River that went completely dry. If that dry stretch should extend into town, wouldn't the River Walk that we've been waiting for an interminable amount of time, be a big flop? Years ago, we were cheated out of a River Walk by a scheming builder that went bankrupt. He's the one who built the "incredible tumbling wall" and left a condo complex mostly bereft of residents and without much of a river view to gaze down at. In fact, I could set a bucket of water outside my dining room window and have a more robust water view.
