Most of the human beings are completely deceived.

Shipping in the Arctic region is predicted to boom as ice sheets that formerly proved impenetrable recede due to global warming, opening up faster sea routes between Europe and Asia.

Judged: 2 2 1 The sun has been unseen from the North Pole for 11 weeks! Arctic Ocean warmth is & will continue to keep Arctic sea ice thinner through the coming winter & even spring. As of November, Arctic sea ice VOLUME is ~21% lower than any other year Arctic sea ice yearly VOLUME. Average Arctic sea ice VOLUME during November for the period 1980-89, was ~18 thousand km3. Present November 2012 sea ice VOLUME is 6200 km3. The Arctic sea ice loss has been an uncontrolled plummet, desired by unscientific AGW deniers, who mostly have no or little mathematical or science background. ////////// litesong continues: Presently, Arctic sea ice extent is 10,906,094 km2 (December 9, 2012), the day's gain, the size of tiny Maryland. Present temperatures on Arctic Canadian islands, the mainland & Siberia, are to the minus mid-thirties degC & lower. Continued cold along Canadian islands has caused west Baffin Bay to ice, altho the eastern Bay along Greenland remains thinly clear. Due to solar heats absorbed into the shallow waters of Hudson Bay, the Bay has resisted icing. With past temperatures as low as -40 degC, due to cold spillage from the North Pole, the Bay is now icing, broadly north to south. Long resisting the Arctic Ice Pack, Chief Joseph Land is now widely encircled by Arctic Ice Pack, due to 24/7 hours of darkness & a shifting but long enduring vortex, that moved cold Arctic sea water southward to the islands. Svalbard, also in winter darkness 24/7, is still clear of the Ice Pack, as is Novaya Zemlya,!!!!!!!!! A detail noted a month & a half ago, is a raggy taggy developing edge along a part of the semi-circle Ice Pack, possibly NOT coincidental with the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS (plus?) OF SQUARE KILOMETERS, of waters north of Alaska & Siberia that are VASTLY CLEAR. Might the raggy taggy edge indicate huge turbulence & currents in this largest(ever?) ice free, & resulting southerly-directed heat stratified Arctic waters? I wonder if there might develop more raggy taggy edging, enough to form a swirl pattern? Near the raggy taggy Ice Pack, developed 3 tiny pixel ice floes(arced?), separated from the Arctic ice pack toward southerly directions. A day later, the number of ice floes increased to 8 & indeed they formed an ARC. Pretty sure they represent a large scale vortex in open Arctic water! Further data, showed that the vortex was true! The sun has been unseen from the North Pole for 11 weeks & presently anywhere above the 68th parallel, now shrouding the Arctic with darkness for a good portion of the year! The sun is almost half an arcdeg above its farthest position to the south, due to the tilt of the Earth & present orbital position! |

Judged: 2 1 Some of the global warming forum threads appear in other topix threads, besides global warming. A number of us are from the global warming forums. Seems you have found this thread through the Norwegian forum. |

Judged: 1 I just explained that there is different parts in this forum, Norwegian, Chinese and German etc.... Because topix was created for local communities to discuss news with eachother, and it expanded from American states to nations. He told me some threads gets published in more than one part of the forum, so I wonder if I go to the chinese part of the forum, do I see a thread like this there? |

Judged: 2 1 The closer a thread in a particular forum, may be related to another forum, should increase the changes of the thread appearing in that forum. Sometimes, global warming threads in the global warming forum, will appear in the much more general Sci-Tech forum. Its quite obvious that increasing possibilities for shipping in Arctic waters due to sea ice disappearance could often appear in forums of countries surrounding the Arctic Ocean. Any country with a shipping industry where shorter routes are opening up, would be interested in future Arctic routes. In this case, this thread seems to have popped up in the Norwegian thread. |
