Fire on Sherman Island in Delta causing large plumes of smoke
#1 Mar 17, 2013
Saw the smoke while doing field work in black diamond mines regional preserve, south of Antioch. We all thought it was some sort of dark cloud and did not realize it was actually smoke from a massive blaze untill we were driving out around 4:30. We were blown away that such dark smoke would be billowing from a vegitation fire. We could still see the smoke across the sky back in Turlock, CA.

We witnessed the giant plumes around 5:00pm while out shopping
In Brentwood. It was an impressive sight. It started to rain ash about a half hour later.
I noticed it start to die off about 7pm, I believe. The smoke clouds blew all the way overvasco hills area. I took pictures, it seemed massive. I hope no one was hurt for any reason.
