yes yes they are and if you take the meds away' or make it harder to get that will almost go away' but these doctors when they wright them with out caluse' like a MRI bust pharmacy that fill millions a year ' it starts with the goverment shuting this and drug companys that make these pills from hell' i no been there have to want to quit then go coldturkey' tough yep a few days but can be done.id say 2 out of 5 in logan co. is hooked on these pills..id rather see pot heads around atless they wont kill for a pill.

well yeah your right there' ppl wont go coldturkey' they will go to pain clinics or get a patch' they dont want to quit' thats why logan will never change..lots are getting these checks over this' why should they quit they dont care no more there..

Restricting or taking the meds away will not solve the problem itself. It might encourage a few to quit ...tho the easiest way to 'quit' is to replace one addiction for another. Prohibition will only drive it further underground and accentuate crime. The next generation of 'empty lifers' will then take the place of those who became 'clean'.
Whether it's true or not it being a symptom of an empty life, there are those who take drugs because they enjoy them. Nature herself has given us substances to alter consciousness and mood, and relieve pain [physical or psychological]
