We must demand that all uninspected meat be sold at double the price to right-wingers… it’s only fair.

They have a history of preferring pork, preferably uninspected.

I worked in the meat industry for a short while and believe me, you do NOT want to cut the number of inspectors!

"Meat inspections are just one more way Obama spends your tax dollars on useless govt programs. American meat is good and tasty and rarely kills anyone. I want the govt out of our slaughter houses and back to making war on Muslims and immigrants."

Does anyone think that the government really is going to melt down and fold with a 2% budget cut like these fools in DC are all warning is going to happen ? This political grandstanding against ever doing anything to reduce the govs runaway spending habits is laughable. So far we can't fuel the navys ships, 800,000 gov employees face furloughs, other gov depts may have to stop services for a freaking 2% belt tightening ? The USA is run by a bunch of 3 year olds, I am waiting for obamas threat like a few years ago to resurface that seniors SS and veterans benefits will have to wait because the belt tightening is just too severe. Don't ever hear about foodstamp or medicaid or welfare or foreign aid taking a hit, just the politically convenient. USA government, ship of fools.

Meat inspectors are just interfering in the
sacred connection between seller and buyer.
Over-regulating is killing the market place
and is placing heavy burdens on the seller.
Should government insist that food be clean
and safe to eat, or should that be up to the
consumer to make his own determination?

What ever happened to personal responsibility?
Down with the nanny state!

Yup. Let's apply Enron strategy to the food industry.

We need MORE meat inspection (and regulation), not less. One more reason that across-the-board cuts are stupid and simple-minded.

well perfessor, if you are not one of obamas 47% and actually work for a living and pay taxes. How is your personal 2% Across-the-Board budget cut your paycheck received with the higher FICA tax rate working for you ? Did it force you to go bankrupt, affect your entire way of life, make you layoff or furlough groceries-fuel etc ? Or did you adjust your budget accordingly and absorb the cut ?

Obama and his minions are crying and squalling that the 2% cut to a 4 trillion annual budget is going to cost hundreds of thousands of jobs in the gubbmint workforce, interrupt endless vital services. I call bulls*it, obama just forced EVERY working taxpaying citizen into a personal 2% reduction of available wages and now cries that his gubbmint just CANNOT sustain itself with the same cut. Plus what makes it more ludicrous is that these cuts were demanded by him in a bill signed by him.

Agreed! Let the sacred dynamics of the market place
decide whether we consume tainted or poisoned food
products. If enough people sicken and die from
eating bad food, the rest will shy away from those brands.
Problem solved!

Oh, by the way, we must also pass laws against the right
of the citizen to sue for damages if someone dies from
consuming a certain food product. Food producers shouldn't
be harassed by dissatisfied consumers.

Who needs government?

And I had no big problem with the FICA rollback, no. You DO realize the cut was merely a temporary 2% rollback, don't you?:)

>>CONGRESS merely rolled FICA back to the point where it was at before you and I and everyone got a temporary 2% cut over a couple of years, intended to help us recover. Obama didn't "force every working taxpaying citizen' into anything. Nor was sequestration Obama's idea, on the contrary it was supported by the Republicans.

You are right - Obama over exaggerates any issue that he wants passed and when he does not get his way he cries like a spoiled brat to the public. He LIED to the public when he said the SS checks would stop when they were talking about grandmaw going over the cliff - the monies were not appropriated from the same funds that was being cut. He will LIE, CHEAT AND STEAL TO GET WHAT HE WANTS just so he can say "I WON" and if he does not win then he say's "the Reps done it" - he can't use Bush anymore after 4 years. His actions are so childish. One day he might take responsibility for something. Sorry he does take responsibility for playing golf with Tiger Woods.

SORRY HAD TO SHORTEN YOUR POST TO GET A RESPONSE TO YOU.

Obama was FOR the sequestration - he signed it.

The Wall Street Journal itself also weighed in in a separate editorial, referring to the White House event that Obama hosted on Tuesday, saying in a blistering editorial that “Americans can expect more such melodrama in the coming days.

In what the paper called “a public service” it broke down what it described as the president’s three biggest political tricks.

The first is what it calls the Washington Monument ploy designed “to stir public support for all government spending by shutting down vital services first.“

“Voters should scoff at the idea that at $3.6 trillion government can’t save one nickel of every dollar that agencies spend. The $85 billion in savings is a mere 2.3% of total spending,” it continues.

“Americans need to understand that Mr. Obama is threatening that if he doesn’t get what he wants, he’s ready to inflict maximum pain on everybody else. He won’t demand that agencies cut the lowest priority spending as any half-competent middle manager would.“

As for what the newspaper calls the recession scare, it says that historically — after World War II as well as in the 1980s and in the 1990s —when federal spending fell there was a rapid growth in private output and wealth.

By contrast, it says,“Mr. Obama has taken government spending from 21% to 24% of GDP, yet we’ve had the weakest economic recovery in three generations.”

Finally, the Journal denounces a tax increase “disguised as tax reform.” For 30 years, it says,“bipartisan tax reform has meant lowering tax rates in return for closing loopholes. But having already raised rates, Mr. Obama now wants fewer loopholes for those he dislikes while keeping the higher rates.“

“This is nothing but a grab for more revenue so he and Democrats can keep spending,” it says.

“If Mr. Obama really wants to eliminate the sequester, Republicans are ready to negotiate,” maintains the paper.“But if he won’t drop his tax increase and negotiate in good faith, as he hasn’t during his Presidency, then the sequester is the only way that any spending is going to be cut. The economy will be better for it.”

When you cut our military you make America a weak nation. Do not believe you want a war fought on our land. We would be invaded fast if any other country thought they could overthrow us.
