It's more of a problem then anyone with a college education even knows, way out of control. It's hitting every financial class, not just the poor and it's affecting the folk who live their lives reponsable and respectively!

The problem begins with prescription pills, people then bump up the opiate list because h is way cheaper, either raise minimum wage and keep enough money in the pockets of addicts not to resort to h, make painkiller awareness a number 1 priority like it should be, or have a more accepting and tolerant mind to those who need painkillers and teach them the effect they have on selling or make it more obtainable....anything like that would kill off heroin buying and keep people from destroying their lives. Imagine how many lives could be saved if judgmental assholes weren't responsible for the war on drugs and it was understanding people who were the ones looking to educate the public about drug use and creating life rehabilitation centers... there wouldn't be kids waiting around to blow their brains out because they have nobody to help them through their struggle and maybe an open mind could stop the whole cycle before it begins.

That's a pretty ignorant opinion you have there. You don't think there's college students who party and use drugs? You think they should just oD and die? I'm not trying to offend you, but your mindset is the fuel for this destructive "war on drugs" fire. Kids need to be engaged intellectually so they can draw their own conclusions and find their own reasons for not wanting to use drugs, or else it will feel like a lecture and be ignored as such. Society still thinks its the 50s and if drug use is ignored only "scum bags and welfare minorities" will fall victim. People neednto change, and that's how you begin to stop the epidemic.
