Clues to rare super-volcano blasts

Volcano to watch is actually Mono Craters rather than Yellowstone (an arc of very pretty lava domes & fracture fed domes @ Inyo craters & Mono lake.
This one being a backarc supervolcano has a relatively low gas pressure compared to an arc like toba which means that we can see the big one coming as the flash over depth is rather less.
Also note that Yellowstone also erupted ~150000 years ago and the absence of a supervolcano eruption was due to the pluton being relatively small and the degassed residual magma from the 600000 year eruption getting in the way. The result was a series of lava domes at ~150000,~100000, and ~70000 years ago due to ice loading on the lid of the yellowstone caldera, & brittle fracture as a result of water (sub ice overcooling of the currently plastic lid. The dome volume is about 1000Km3 so the eruptions from the ~150000 year old pluton breaak in was quite large, just not quite big enough...
