What do you mean "they refused?" What is "small?" If they didn't have enough $$ on hand or it was before 7AM (I think that is the time...) they can't. Elaborate?

Maybe they couldn't cash it, there must be a reason they wouldn't just refuse to cash it.

maybe suzy was intoxicated or beligerent, they don't like "attitudes" at vals. i doubt she will elaborate, cause i'm sure it's her own fault.

I also tried to cash in a winning scratch ticket,$60 winner at 7pm and they refused. Since all the lottery money is seperate from the stores money, there should always be cash on hand for such a small payout.
I'm with suzy.... I take me business elsewhere.

Machine was working just fine, and they were selling tickets. Now when I go to buy lottery tickets, I get my milk and other items at another local business.

Why try to make excuses and justify what Val's did?......If it was a cash flow concern or the machine was down, the employee surely would have informed the customer and just not outright refused to cash it......some stores hold back from cashing tickets that were not purchased at their store and they can tell....

in the past couple months(on a couple of occassions) cumbys has said "i can't cash in tickets" they could still sell them , but the link to the lottery was down.

i don't know what the reason was at vals, but if they told people "we can't cash in your ticket", it COULD have been due to the machine.

the people told this might have taken it personally, especially if they didn't follow-up with "because the machines are down."

vals should get the benefit of the doubt.until more evidence has been gathered.

i agree the old gals that work there are VERY unfriendly. but i bet they will be looking for a big tip cuz they sold a winner. if i won the only tip from me would be "don't eat yellow snow"

Why would anyone give a tip to the clerk? What for? They were only doing what they get paid to do and deserve nothing more._uck the leaches it serves them right for being minimum wage lackies.

Because it's traditional in this country to tip. Especially when you win big. It's no different then tipping the dealer at a blackjack table. The clerk that sold you that ticket DESERVES that tip.

You sound like one of those people who think minimum wage employees are dirt underneath your feet. You are either filthy rich of one of the welfaeries who sit on their asses all day demeaning those who are paying the taxes so that you and your famblee can eat.

You should be ashamed of your elitist attitudes and GRATEFUL for the largess of the taxpayers.

Also-- "leaches" is properly spelled as Leeches.

And "Lackie" is properly spelled Lackey.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anymore spelling lessons.
