How is everything going with the Beacon?

It's a money pit for the tax-payers, and a boon for the GOBs.

You must be joking, right? What does a Librarian and his IT second in charge know about running a theatre or any event for that matter?????
That is where the mistake was made.

The City took the project over a while back after the Law suit to re coop the money that the city put in.
Money gained through the I295 project run by the Sheriff's Office is going to fund the Beacon. But you are right about all the press and fanfare regarding the start of the NEW city project. It has been months and we have heard nothing about the Beacon since the city took it over.
The only people that even want the Beacon are the GOB's and most of city council. The citizens of Hopewell do not want it; our money can best be spent elsewhere.
I for one think we have wasted enough time and money on this money pit of a project. Hell we cannot even get a certain city council member to bring her building up to code that sites beside the Beacon.
