Simone Webb states "Assange is refusing to face the Swedish legal system with respect to rape allegations." This is false.

Neither of the women intended to file a complaint against Mr. Assange. Neither woman ever alleged rape. Woman B stated she was "railroaded" by police to make a statement, which she refused to sign.

There are not two allegations of rape, but one allegation by the Swedish state of what Swedish law calls 'minor rape'. The conduct described in the allegations would not be a crime in the United Kingdom.

Swedish lawyers who have read the police report argue that even in Sweden the conduct alleged does not constitute a crime.Senior prosecutor Eva Finne dropped the 'rape' investigation within hours of its being headlined in the tabloids.

The Ecuadorian Government granted Assange asylum after concluding Sweden will not protect him from being extradited to the United States. Amnesty International called on Sweden to guarantee Mr. Assange will not be sent to the US, where he will face trial for his work with WikiLeaks.

Mr. Assange has asked to be allowed to give his side of the story for two years. The Swedish prosecutor refuses to interview Mr. Assange in London, as mandated under Swedish and European law, and refuses to give an explanation for this refusal.

The presumption of innocence is a basic principle of law. We all have an obligation not to mislead people about the facts of this case.

A student from Texas, now at Oxford, is smearing Julian Assange. Karl Rove (right-hand man of Geroge W Bush) from Texas went to Sweden and met Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, after which witness statements of false allegations againt Assange were set in motion. Julian Assanage was framed, the sex allegations never happened. See 'Julain Assange in Sweden', an e-book by Guy Sims. The story is there in original docuemnts.
