Hearing Underway for Mike Stefani

An attorney who gave a newspaper sexually explicit text messages between ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and a top aide says he isn't sure those messages were the ones eventually published.

Mike's story is interesting and hard to believe.
He says he did give the messages to the paper and told them they had to use their best efforts to go to Sky-Tel and get their own copy. If they could not get their own new copy, they were free, even encouraged, to use the one he gave them. This is how he claims deniability in knowing what they did and which copy they might have printed. That's a tough sell if I'm on the jury.

Iron Mike says with trembling lips that he had to make sure the messages got out because he was raised Catholic. It was his moral duty says he even if it did violate court rules. He hopes everyone understands Jesus made him do it. But having said the above, he proclaims that he told the Freep to get their own copy so he can say he doesn't know for sure whether they did.
