James, your argument is the same one I hear dopers make all the time about using drugs. I have heard it hundreds of times. "Who cares, everybody else does it, you just caught me." No one doubts that children become curious at this age with the media throwing sex in their face 24/7 365. You can't watch any TV show anymore whether family related or not without having sex thrown in your face. Many parents wish their kids were thinking about being astronauts, presidents, and all the things young kids used to think of, not going in the broom closet during lunch break and getting it on. You don't understand some of the other posts probably because you were raised with this current atmosphere. Many parents believe in bringing things into their kids lives at appropriate times in their maturity. You don't usually get to drive, stay at home for short periods by yourself, date, go off with friends to the mall until you are around 15. Is it too much to think that we shouldn't be throwing sex in their face prior to at least this age too. It is not safe for children to be engaging in an act that can change their entire life when they are not even mature enough to drive (15 year old pregnancies come to mind?). I know it is hard in the sex obsessed culture for many people to understand this, but it would be better if our kids were not drowned in an ocean of meaningless sex and relationships and learned to value one another a little more.
