--Seriously. If this foreign faction existed, why didn't they call? Why not taunt? Why not make themselves known above and beyond the ransom note?
Bizarre enough that it may have sprung from the mind of a panicked family member wresting now with something they should have seen and attended to much earlier.

It's pretty fair to state that there was no foreign faction. Patsy wrote the note IMO and nobody else. The linguistics match, the handwriting matches, Patsy changed her writing style after the crime and it's also obvious to the naked eye whether you are a professional or not.

That is my opinion based on what I've seen and read from the experts. Yes, there are experts that will say differently, but I will agree with those who opine it was Patsy. Considering that the Vidocq society also believes it was Patsy and since they are much smarter than I am, I'll go with their opinion as well. They believe it was written by a woman with a man's influence which has always been my opinion as well.

I think John and Patsy wrote that note together with Patsy doing the actual penning of the note

And there is no clear-cut evidence that John was involved. But there is clear-cut evidence that Patsy was influenced by Muriel Spark and there are items from her work that show up in the case including the use of intitialisms, punctuation, indentation, phrasiology, preference for handwritten correspondence on lined paper etc., etc.

We may differ on the reasons for her writing the note, but at least we both agree that she wrote the note

It's a start :)

And the group of individuals composed it.

Careful now, you should clarify this group of individuals=Patsy, not ALL those IDI culprits tromping around in that basement (hmm.. should be about 16 or 17, anyway)
