Just simple logic. It is just a fact that trolls have a screw loose or they wouldn't be trolls, so it just has to be both

The Ramseys should never be allowed to think it is over. They should be watched and monitored and questioned forever IMO. It's really a shame that the public are the only ones who haven't forgotten JBR, when her family does everything they can to forget and pretend they are victims

I got the Douglas book today, but Iím probably a week or two away from starting to read it. At a glance: there are three chapters on the Ramsey case, page 163 to 215.

A bat was found by the door.
The DNA was a Man.
The brother was asleep by the moon.
What did you mean by that?
Are you the Bat Man??????
Top of the day to you.
Not much of a case here left for you to solve. The Ramseys were responsible. Its basically all over for the IDI except for the overt SPAM.

In The Cases That Haunt Us, John Douglas says:

"I have trouble with this[Steve Thomas's] scenario on many levels, all of them based on my two and a half decades studying violent crime, particularly the behavioral aspects. First, if Patsy took such time to set up the scene to make it look like something other than what it was, why didn't she do the one truly obvious and mandatory thing: make it look as if someone had broken in and then left again?...The Ramseys actually said they thought they'd locked all the doors.....The same is true with the legal pad that the ransom note came from. If Patsy wrote the note herself, she knew where the paper came from, she knew it would be evidence, she knew it would help tie her to the crime. And she's going to leave it out in plain sight? Totally illogical. If you're going to do that, you're going to leave the duct tape roll and the cord out in plain sight, too...."

I have trouble with this statement on many levels. First, the train room window was unlocked and at least cracked open, wasn't it? That's how Lou Smit said the intruder got in. Is there some reason the intruder couldn't leave by a door? Not sure what Douglas's problem is here. Second, it was John Ramsey who said (initially) that he locked all the doors. I'm not aware that Patsy said anything about it. That fits with Thomas's theory that Ramsey was didn't know what had happened when he got up. When the implications crystallized, Ramsey changed his story about the doors being locked.

Then the legal pad issue....Patsy, Thomas had reason to believe, had recently purchased the duct tape and cord at a local hardware store. It's only because of some other detective's incompetence that they missed the window for getting the surveillance video that might have shown her at the check-out counter.

But I don't see her throwing the duct tape and cord down a storm drain as Thomas suggests. Too much risk of being seen and would she even know where the storm drain was? I think she'd probably just take the stuff out of the house in her purse. Maybe the 14 x 11 pad was too big to fit.

Right, but that doesn't mean he couldn't have cogent arguments. I don't find his arguments persuasive, plus he doesn't seem to have his facts quite straight.
