What the Boulder DA's have done and continue to do is an interesting story in it's own right but it has nothing to do with the case.

Garnett is acting in defense of the DA's office and maybe himself and by doing that he blocks progress in the case.

Brennan's efforts are leveraging the DA's office but having no leverage on the case.

Quote: The indictment would be a lengthly document. It's release would answer many questiones but not necessarily lead to any further action by the DA.

I doubt it is very lengthy. It's going to look just like this, an indentical indictment against 2 parents for child abuse leading to death in Boulder County, CO:

I'm no lawyer, but what I read implies that Garnett not only isn't against releasing the indictment document, but he asked Beckner if the "case" would be compromised if it was released; Beckner said nope.

Sounds like Garnett only wants a judge to make the final decision.

Interesting. Is it possible Boulder actually has a DA who isn't completely corrupt for a long overdue change?

Thanks for sharing, Candy. I'll be stealing this any minute now....

A fifteen page formal document is lengthly to me. It wasn't a lttle slip of paper they handed to Hunter.

It's full of information unknown to the public. Brennan wouldn't be trying if it wasn't.

I would like to see the plaintiffs win in this case as well. I think it deserves public scrutiny, given the circumstances and skepticism the public has/had about their officials and their systems. Brennan says that it won't hurt the case and if not for Burke, I think the plaintiffs would stand a chance.

I'm betting, and it's just my personal opinion, that they won't release it and base the focus of the fight on the fact that Burke was a minor at the time and it may violate his rights, privacy, etc.

Like the NE interviews, without the FULL information, including Burke, whether he is your suspect or not, the information won't answer as many questions as we have and the context may change. It should be a full report, ALONG WITH THE DNA REPORT that came afterward

In any event, win or lose, it can only be positive for JBR to have this back in the media and up for discussion. Anything that keeps the case public is a good thing

I've spent time in the last week trying to find out why Garnett has custody of the case file, when his agency is not the one investigating the case. Stone cold silence, not even any fake "innocent" explanation offered. So it's my belief that another sleazy deal DIRECTLY BENEFITING THE RAMSEYS went down, sometime after Lin Wood threatened to sue the Boulder Police in 2010, which resulted in another back door, no publicity, SLEAZY DEAL, handing over the case to the DA's office, which promptly had BURIED the case and done NOTHING to investigate or bring about Justice for JonBenet. The ONLY way there will be Justice for JonBenet is this case to be removed from Boulder.

The only way to advance this case is to go around the DA and Chief of Police and Ramsey lawyer and explain it to the public:

Patsy did the whole thing and did it deliberately.

John and Burke would be off the hook and Ramsey lawyer would be irrelevant.

Of course that would leave the Boulder DA's office open for scrutiny so the limbo that the case is in protects the Boulder DA's office.

The end run is the only way.

I couldn't agree more, Candy. I feel the same way about the faux suicide of Rebecca Zahau in Coronado. I don't understand how they can slam the case shut and REFUSE to open it for a new look when clearly it was murder.

I agree the Zahau case is another prosecutorial injustice case just like the Ramsey case. Rebecca was blatently murdered by a rich fiance, whose money the DA's office is afraid of, so they made up this convoluted story of suicide to get themselves off the hook from having to prosecute him.

"If" Garnett doesn't mind if the grand jury indictment comes out, there's nothing good about that. That only means he's hoping people will feel this case is hopelessly screwed up, a basket case, not worthy of any more time and attention. Plus, it's Alex Hunter's screw up, not his, so why should he care? That's false and don't believe it for a minute. They had FAR less evidence and NO BODY, yet put the perp dad, Aaron Thompson in prison for the rest of his life in a similar case in Colorado. This case is lacking a decent prosecutor, that's always been the main problem. WAITING for years and decades to know who did what is NOT REALISTIC, and NOT NECESSARY. You're giving the killer or killers a get out of prison free PASS FOR MURDER by doing that.

I hope the truth comes out but don't think the Ramseys should be prosecuted for the death of Jonbenet.

They should pay reciprocities for the investigation and to the people they maligned and or accused. Money means more to John Ramsey than Jonbenet ever did.

I'd go out of my way to thwart and prevent the Ramseys from criminal prosecution but would jump on any bandwagon going after Hunter, Lacy and other Ramsey cronies that were involved in the cover-up. Those were the real crimes against America.

The indictment has now been made public, it was not enforced or carried out or whatever lingo is used in such an unusual circumstance.

Technically the indictment has not been made public. Only the result has, but not the details of it which is what they were going after.

Talk radio 850KOA ran a top of the hour news blurb friday 10/11 during the day and evening by Jim Hooley on the hearing.
At least it is getting some media coverage.

This is the lawsuit that brought about the opening of the JonBenet Ramsey grand jury indictment against BOTH of her parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, for child abuse leading to death.
