Security Bank was established on June 18, 1951 as Security Bank and Trust Company (SBTC) in Manila. SBTC was the first privately-owned, Filipino-controlled bank At the time, of the post-World War II era. The bank's head office was first located on Plaza Goiti, moving to Escolta in 1954. At the time, Security Bank was so aggressive in opening branches that at one point during the 1950s, it had more branches in Metro Manila than any other local bank.

Beginning in the 1960s, Security Bank also started expanding outside Metro Manila, with the opening of its first provincial branch in Angeles City, Pampanga. Within the decade, the bank started a rapid expansion in the provinces. It was also in the 1960s that Security Bank led a consortium of local and foreign companies that lent US$62 million to the Lopez family to fund their acquisition of Meralco, the first of its kind in Philippine banking history.

In the 1970s, Security Bank issued its first credit card, introducing the Philippines to Diners Club. It also marked the start of the bank's trust offerings, many of which were deemed innovative, and still survive today as pre-need and common-trust plans, of which they are descended from Security Bank's offerings at the time. Towards the end of the 1970s, the bank was granted permission to operate a foreign currency division by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. It widened its investment services portfolio in the 1980s, even when the Philippines was thrown into a deepening political crisis. Like other major banks, Security Bank survived.

The 1990s brought in new owners led by present chairman Frederick Y. Dy. On April 26, 1994, the bank was issued a universal banking license by the BSP. With the issuance of its universal banking license, the legal name of Security Bank changed to the present-day Security Bank Corporation. The bank also moved to its new headquarters along Ayala Avenue in Makati City. SBC's stock was also formally listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange on June 8, 1995, with a 1.5 billion-peso initial public offering. The bank celebrated its fiftieth anniversary on June 18, 2001.

So what. S.B.T.C. matches a million things. wHAT COULD THAT POSSIBLY HAVE HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE PEOPLE INVOLVED. Just like Subic Bay training camp. It didn`t exist. It coulda meant Santa Barbara Tennis Club or She`s Big Tittied Cunt. What does the note say? Don`t call FBI or she`s dead. Don`t call police or she`s dead. Don`t even F-ing think about it or I`ll chop off her head. S.B.T.C. SO BETTER TAKE CARE

Particularly calling in ALL their friends to COME ON OVER...NO ONE WOULD HAVE DONE THAT... I can see calling police for advice on how to handle BUT CALLING IN ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO COME OVER. That alone speaks volumns about what the Ramseys ALREADY KNOW exits in that house.

What a ridiculous answer. You might call the police for advice BUT YOU SURE ARE NOT GOING TO CALL IN ALL THESE PEOPLE TO COME OVER IF IT MEANS YOUR DAUGHTER WOULD BE BEHEADED...

Henrietta, you can put all the "spin" you want to concerning intruder and all that; however, this is one fact you will NEVER be able to get past. The Ramsey's had such a low regard for that ransom note that they invited all their best friends over...even though they were told in no uncertain terms their daughter would be beheaded.

It's just a natural reaction to phone your friends when something terrible like that happens.

I don't have much wide and practical experience of that sort of incident. The only similar incident like that, in my experience, was when one of my baby brothers was dying years ago and my mother called over some friends and the priest. Luckily a world expert doctor at the local hospital evaluated what the problem was and he was cured. The case was written up in the medical journals.

I agree that if the Boulder police had told the Ramseys not to phone any of their friends then the Ramseys shouldn't have disobeyed those instructions. That never happened. That's not the fault of the Ramseys.

I have seen it mentioned on other JonBenet forums that the Ramseys should have phoned the FBI and not the police. I think that's a bit harsh. The Ramseys weren't intelligence experts, or anti-terrorist specialists. From Nancy Krebs' experience of phoning the FBI you only get an answering machine anyway. Most people would phone a police emergency number in that situation.

If the Ramseys hadn't phoned the police JonBenet's body would have eventually been discovered as soon as the Ramseys realized the ransom note was a hoax. I think the Ramseys did the right thing in calling the police, even though the Boulder cops were incompetent.

The police are supposed to serve and protect and not to arrest innocent people.

To imply that anyone thinks police or FBI should not have been called by the Ramseys is ridiculous.
but calling all the friends to come over is another matter altogether.

I believe I would have had to tell police on the phone that the ransom note said my daughter would be beheaded if "we are even caught talking to a stray dog".. I would have been hysterical over THAT FACT...I would have said "how can we handle this, no one can see you here..." But Patsy doesn't even mention that fact. It takes the police after having read note to KNOW THIS...DUH

Did John Ramsey use that SBTC bank? He would know about it. He was stationed there when it was SBTC. He would know the money conversion and if it was a foreign faction they would ask for a lower ransom in american dollars.

Have you heard Patsy say a million timnes she didnt read the whole note she read some gave it to john and called the police and friends to get help Im sure how would anyone know what to do or what they would do when you are faced with something so out of the norm? Say what you want until it happens to you nobody knows how they would act. if the ramseys had thought about things like that they would look just as guilty what they did was raw panicked not rehearsed. It said dont call police if she saw that and was calling the police anyway what did calling friends over hurt at that point. over thinking the parts that dont really matter is a trait found in most BORGS. What about the rope cord duct tape beaver hairs wolf hairs pubic hair man sized hitech boot prints dna the ramseys motive when jK was arrested he said it was an accident AND EVERYBODY SAID! HE IS LYING THIS WAS NO ACCIDENT! ITS NOT A ACCIDENT! TELL ME WHY THE PARENTS WANTED HER DEAD! PREMEDITATED MURDER WHY DID THEY PLAN AND CARRY OUT THE BRUTAL MURDER OF THEIR MOST BELOVED CHILD? THAT IS THE ONE QUESTION NO BORG HAS BEEB ABLE TO ANSWER> PROOF IS NEEDED NOT I THINK A PERSON WROTE SOMETHING BECAUSE I THINK A PERSON LOOKS AND ACTS LIKE SHE MUST HAVE THOUGHT THAT WAY! WHAT KIND OF BS IS THAT?

All of their friends? I think by all accounts they had more than 4 friends. Exaturating the way you say something doesnt make it true. 4 of their closest friends not bob from down the street not tom from across Boulder 4 friends in two house both within blocks of the Ramsey house maybe they will see something on the way maybe they will know something maybe the Ramsey's suspected them it doesn't mean they knew she was dead, it doesn't mean they were faking or lying it just means that was Patsy's first reaction. A social butterfly scared comfort in numbers maybe who knows the point is that doesn't make them killers it makes them bad ransom note demand followers how do you think that is damaging it cant solve the case. They didnt wake Burke up they checked him knew he was safe didnt want to alarm him waited for the police then woke him and sent him to Fleets. that shows they thought it was a kidnapping for money, they didn't want to alarm Burke and possibly have a hysterical kid to deal with on top of a kidnapped one, they sought advice from police and friends woke him up and sent him to be somewhere they felt was safe. They didnt know she was dead. If they did why didnt they worry that maybe Burke had heard them kill JB and would alert someone after he left? They didnt worry about it because they didnt need to. They reacted like the parents of a kidnapped kid. You ever have a sureal moment when you are like this isnt happening you get that dazed fog feeling when you try to focus everything drifts farther and father away and you just hope you can hold on long enough that everything will be all right. Ever lost your kid in a store and looked everywhere and still couldnt find them? You panick yell at strangers demand answers searches and then you find them hiding in the clothes rack you were standing next to and relief washes over you. Now think about turning around your kid is gone there is a ransom note you KNOW he is gone. When does the panic take over for you and stop you from thinking rationally? For me it would be the instant I saw the first paragraph of that ransom note. WE HAVE YOUR DAUGHTER! IMPLIES. YOUR DAUGHTER IS GONE! SOMEBODY HAS TAKEN HER AWAY. FIRST THOUGHT? GET HELP NOW LOTS OF HELP! WHO CAN I GET HERE RIGHT NOW! WE NEED TO FIND HER!

The FACTS are that male CAUCASION DNA was found in Jonbenet`s underwar which were made by female asians. All 13 of the needed 13 DNA markers are there which proves the DNA does not match a Ramsey. The FACTS are that degraded DNA was also present under her fingernails with 10 of the DNA markers present, those 10 exactly matching the 13 in the underpants. The facts are that handwriting analysis eliminates John Ramsey from writing the note. The FACTS are that on a scale of 1 to 5 John placed 5 excluding him from having written the note and Patsy placed 4.5 making it barely possible but 90% unlikely that she wrote the Ransom note. The FACTS are that you have NO FACTS supporting your opinion. You just assume. ASS-U-ME. To assume makes an ass of you and me. I don`t assume. That leaves only you. Those are the FACTS.

It`s also a FACT that in America you`re innocent until proven guilty. Noone has provided proof that the Ramseys did anything. On the contray the PROOF is that there was an Intruder. You go on and on with your half truths. The Ramseys called ALL their friends. No. They called Fleet White and the Fernies. Yes they ignored the Ransom Note. So What, the kid was dead anyway already. What valid point have you presented?? None. What proof against the Ramseys? None. Jonbenet would not have screamed in terror at her parents, only at an intruder. What reason could they have for spending big money getting her in pageants, buy her a new bike, take her to church, and then the next week breaking a paint brush off inside her. You make literally no sense. You remind me of a flower. You`re a BLOOMING IDIOT.

How do you ignore a ransom note you have admitted to not reading? She said she didnt read it. If she wrote it she would know what it said If she didnt read the hole thing she wouldnt know what you think she should have known at the time she made the calls. Your facts dont add up unless you can prove she read that specific part of the note. Good luck proving that you cant she said she read the first paragraph and skimmed the note she never said I saw what they said they would do to JB and then called people over. thats your words
