Review of John Ramsey's new book

I'm reposting a post that was taken down.

John Ramsey told Lucinda Franks in 2008 that he sold his boat, and I posted at the time it was not true, people I know saw it right in his driveway.

•"Ramsey recounts how he sold the billion-dollar company he had built from scratch, then started another that failed. He shed the family’s three big homes, the plane, THE BOAT, and the luxury cars"

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2008/10...

Sure enough, in his new book, he admits living on that boat when he was in between selling one house in CHX, and buying another house, something he has done for years (buying a house, fixing it up, then selling it, then buying a new house up there).

Thanks for yet again proving what a liar he is, Candy. Why would a VICTIM need to lie? LOL

Why is that a lie? Could he have sold the boat after he lived in it???

They had more than one boat.

In spite of a MASSIVE media campaign, unlike ANY I have seen since Steve Job's authorized biographer released his biography after his death, John Ramsey's book is NOT selling very well. It HAS NOT cracked the Amazon 100 best sellers list, which is updated every HOUR, nor Publisher's Weekly's Best Sellers List, nor the NY Times Best Seller's list.

Now his never selling the boat post has been taken down 4 times, so I won't put it back up. It shows how paranoid they are when you actually fact check what he peddles in a book and on TV. And I found out another lie of his. He NEVER sold that expensive silver Audi of his either. He still drives it. The arrogance and hubris of this man is astounding. The fact that he was trying to run for office in the State of Michigan while driving an expensive foreign car, with all the retired and current US auto workers that have second homes up there? He didn't have a hope in hell of ever winning once that FACT came to light.

I finally found some kind of list Ramsey's book was listed on, the UPDATED HOURLY amazon.com top religious and spirituality books, No. 48 AND WITH A DOWNWARD ARROW, MEANING IT'S SELLING IS HEADED DOWN, and it's only been out since March 14th, 12 days:

Also, only the Kindle version of the book made that list. Not the hardback edition .

Interesting that post was taken down Candy, do you have to pay to have it removed? If so, keep posting it! LOL

LOL RT

No, they don't charge anymore, but the idea was good :) Besides, if it is Ramsey, they could afford it!

There's a great post on this thread by "dodie20" who did some research about how many DIFFERENT STORIES John Ramsey has had on the simple matter of the Barnhills, including yet another new one in his book:

Cutting through the Ramsey spin, Barnhill's big sin was to be able to know how to deal with an intelligent, trainable dog which eluded Patsy.

On this point, has there been a real spate of posts being taken down? I only ask because I have taken a squiz at the site at work and determined to reply at the weekend and then found that the topic had pretty much disappeared.

Agreed. Barnhill probably thought of the poor dog as a living thing to be treated well rather than a pretty piece of property that messed the house and barked

The Ramseys didn't know how to love anything IMO. Everything they had, including JBR was for a purpose to please rather than a separate entity to be respected and treated well. Patsy bought JBR the puppy and after the initial ooohs and ahhhs, it was expected to behave as a stuffed animal!

I don't know anyone who shares their dog with a neighbor.

I think that's right, Cappy. For me, it's all of a piece with Patsy going to the effort to have JonBenet look perfect for the pageants but not worrying about her day-to-day toileting and hygiene. If you can't say when your child last bathed or washed her hands, then you are presumably not concerned about the child learning the basic life skills and you presumably don't care if she stinks as long as she looks good. Likewise, as you say, she seemed to like the cute puppy aspect of pet ownership but not the hard work. As well as the laziness and neglect implied here, there is also another example of Patsy failing to teach her children life lessons: part of the reason children get pets is to learn to look after and nurture a living thing and to develop a sense of responsibility.

I also ordered John Ramsey's book, after reading this quote from it online, coupled with all the other words he used from the ransom note in his TV interviews for this book that I noted. I found it very easy to find Ramsey's book for my target price of no more than $5.00, including shipping:

p.82: The other Side of Suffering by John Ramsey: "We dated for a year, and on the day I asked her to marry me, I rehearsed my proposal and had everything planned perfectly. I had already spoken to her father to ask his permission, to impress him with my good intentions and follow GOOD OLD SOUTHERN CUSTOMS."

I agree real Topaz. More and more, I believe he dictated the note to Patsy, and she did the actual writing of the note. Just an opinion of course.

I just started this, and huge red flags start immediately. It's a crying shame no poster has not called these things out before now, a year after the book has been in publication. I was going to start with the first page preface, but I must begin with something MUCH WORSE, just a page or so later:

I'm still in the preface, page X. John Ramsey writes "Delhi, India, December 31, 2009" "It's late evening, and I've missed my connection to Bangalore." Ramsey is claiming he is ALREADY in India on this date. BUT BURKE RAMSEY'S TWEET from December 28, 2009 stated he and his dad had been GETTING DRUNK ON THE BEACH IN HAWAII for the past three days. Three days later, suddenly Ramsey claims to be in INDIA? Who takes a flight from Hawaii to India? Remember also people, this is just a week or so after Ramsey PUBLICLY asked for tips in this case, with a website that was never updated and a YouTube video. He and Burke didn't wait for any tips to come in, they put out a press release on that tips things, AND SPENT THE ANNIVERSARY OF JONBENET'S MURDER ON THE BEACHES OF HAWAII GETTING DRUNK. Now claims he's in India, days after Burke PROVED they BOTH were in Hawaii....
