Steve Thomas in chat in 2000, asked about the enhanced 911 tape:

crimeADM: Did you hear the 911 tape personally; and if so, once and for all,
was Burke on it?

stevethomas: I heard the 911 tape. repeatedly, as did the other detectives.
the consensus was unanimous, as supported by the enhancement -- there is a
3rd voice on the tape, appears to be Burke (unless there was someone else
present who has never been identified...)

That journalist I was referring to on another thread, that obtained a copy of this tape allegedly, and was shut down from presenting it on TV due to threats from Lin Wood, I asked, if you don't want it, we want to know the truth here about it, people all over the world want to hear it for themselves, and the truth of the matter of this evidence. But upon reflection, it's just too big for me, and us here at Topix. However this journalist that obtained that tape was to tell the world about it via TV, it was not to be threatened out of broadcasting it and sitting on it for years on end. This person, if they won't use it, should give it to a major media outlet who will use it, rather than quashing this evidence for years.

Our usual bickering aside, Candy, thank you for both those posts. Simply fascinating, thank you, and alarming.

FWIW, Candy, hundreds of people read the forums who don't post so you are doing your bit by spreading the truth on here.

Also not believable that someone outside law enforcement has the tape and is just sitting on it, doing nothing. Journalists are not known for their ethics and morals.

I totally believe what Candy is saying to be true.(Did I really just say that?) Well, yes I did! Thanks Candy. Differences aside, it is important to know.

You can think what you want Alicia. Too many people know of this story. I'm not the only one that heard it. It makes sense for the type of stories that journalist did after he quashed it too.

Lin Wood screaming at reporters, threatening them is nothing new either. It's a big reason they quit covering the case in depth like they used to.

I totally believe Candy's words. Anyone who has followed this case properly knows it has the ring of truth and it is similar to a story told on at least one other forum.

Lin Wood describes himself as lawyer to the damned, Alicia, and he had openly bragged about how much money he made of this case. If you're attributing particular scruples to him, then you are probably being naive.

I just hope the whole truth comes out some day, Candy, from someone, anyone.

I believe that is a hundred percent accurate as an analysis of why only the very bravest commentators still take an openly RDI stance.

They quit covering the case because only a few people have any interest at all. This case has long since been written off as forever unsolvable by most. Reporters move on to something more lucrative. They have bills to pay.

Hopefully your journalist friend can find someone with interest and will be willing to pass the tape on some day. Someone should come clean with all they know. The housekeeper, Burke, a Ramsey friend, I don't care who.

Well how come I can't hear Burke on the Patsy 911 recording on the dear old ACandyRose website?

I reckon the Boulder cops were tampering with that Patsy 911 call recording, or just hearing voices in their heads.

That 911 call was tested by two expert sound labs in New York who enhanced it as much as is scientifically possible. Their verdict is that Burke wasn't on the tape. Even the FBI agree about that.

I am questioning the integrity of Aerospace. Either they make their Ramsey case tape public and their methodology for finding Burke on it, or they admit they are involved in fraud and perjury in the Ramsey case.

As you recall Henri, the Enquirer, who bought the Bonita Files, and originally broke the story of the enhanced 911 tape over 10 years ago, a few years ago, they ran another article on this, and quoted Aerospace saying they stood by their work on the Ramsey case. I'll look up when they said that.

The Ramseys got the regular, not enhanced, 911 call during the Wolf case, when they subpoenaed it from the BPD. The police tried to protect the evidence with a protective order, which the Ramseys said was already in the public domain due to it being published in Thomas's book, etc. Bottom line, Lacy had just taken over the case and gave them the tape.

When they got that tape, they began shopping it around to their friendly reporters like Barrie Hartman, who said he heard the tape, and there were no voices at the end. Then the Today's show said they had it enhanced, and didn't hear voices on the end of the tape.

This is where Aerospace comes in again:

Aerospace Stands Behind its Work. However, in 2003, according to the National Enquirer (see below), in response to claims that two firms hired by NBC to analyze the tape had found no evidence of Burke's voice, "the renowned high-tech company that enhanced the tape for the Boulder police says its original findings that Burke's voice is on the tape is correct. We stand by our work," Linda Brill, spokesperson for The Aerospace Corporation of El Segundo, Calif., told the Enquirer. The company maintains a division of a Department of Justice - funded institute that offers space-age expertise to police departments nationwide. "We are top shelf," said Brill.

Thanks Candy, well done!

Aerospace has NO reason to lie about such things.

They are a business and like most labs, don't care about the results and who it will favor, but just do their job and relay the results of their testing. They get paid whether there was a voice on the tape or no voice on the tape.

They have no reason to lie. Of course, now Henri and maybe others will claim that they were paid off to lie, but that's to be expected

I would not put it past BPD to lie to John and Patsy. Cops often lie to try to force a confession or trip someone up, just like Crapricorn and Nelly lie about me on here (Crapricorn and Nelly are no good at all at it, though).

I don't think Aerospace lied, though. Lying would hurt them, not help them.

I think there are probably voices on the enhanced tape, but I don't think it's anything that would imply any guilt on the part of the Ramseys. If anything, it's exculpatory to the Ramseys or the BPD would have rushed to make it public.

No one outside of law enforcement and a few selected Aerospace engineers have heard the enhanced 911 tapes, so no one here (especially here) knows what's on or not on the enhanced 911 tapes and it's useless to speculate about it. Obviously, if something is there, it's not inculpatory to the Ramseys. They have been cleared of JonBenet's murder and if it were inculpatory, then law enforcement would have certainly used it against them. They didn't. Not in their depositions.
