Nothing much ever came of that. Here's an article you may find interesting:

Associated Press
Monday, March 3, 1997
Boulder police are re-checking information from a local man who played Santa Claus at the home of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey two nights before she was murdered, and his wife.
Boulder investigators had interviewed Bill McReynolds, 67, a former University of Colorado journalism professor, and his wife Janet, 64, on Feb. 7, after they returned from a trip to Spain.
The Rocky Mountain News reported Sunday that police re-interviewed the McReynoldses and collected hair and handwriting samples from each of them last week. The News said police are interested in the McReynoldses because of two parallels to the Ramsey slaying.
One is the fact that the McReynoldses' middle daughter, then 9, was abducted along with a friend in Longmont and witnessed the sexual molestation of her friend. The incident occurred on Dec. 26, 1974. No suspects were ever arrested.
JonBenet was found murdered in the basement of her parents' luxurious Boulder home 22 years later. An autopsy showed that JonBenet may have been sexually assaulted.
Another parallel is an award-winning play written by Janet McReynolds in 1976. The play, "Hey Rube," is about the sexual assault, torture and murder of a girl whose body was found in a basement.
Janet McReynolds went with her husband to the Ramsey house on the night of Dec. 23, when he portrayed Santa at a Christmas party for the third consecutive year. Bill McReynolds was given a tour of the Ramsey's 6,866-square-foot home in 1995.
The McReynoldses told police their alibi for the night of JonBenet's murder was that they went to bed at 8 p.m. JonBenet died sometime between her bedtime Christmas night and dawn the following day.
"They've always said they're doing this for the purpose of exclusion," Janet McReynolds said of the police request for hair and handwriting samples. "I'm sure we're very far down the list of potential suspects."
Bill McReynolds said he had nothing to do with the murder and said his wife "could never be a suspect" in the case.
"I always told my students to seek the truth," he said. "Now I'm on the other side of it.... I'm probably naive and stupid."
He said the abduction of his own daughter and the play are coincidences.
"In my heart, I know there's no connection," he said. "Anything I'd say would sound suspicious. That's the nuts and bolts of it. "
Boulder spokesman Kelvin McNeill on Sunday refused to confirm that police had talked with the McReynoldses and declined comment about the couple's status in the investigation.
Janet McReynolds put little significance on the similarities between her play and the Ramsey case.
"I was surprised that the police wanted to talk to me about "Hey Rube' because it never occurred to me that there was a possible connection," she said.
Her play is a fictionalized account of the 1965 torture and murder of Sylvia Likens in Indiana. The 16-year-old girl was brutalized by a gang of teenagers and a woman who had agreed to board Likens in her home.
Janet McReynolds won a Western States Art Foundation regional prize and a $7,500 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for the play in 1976, but it was never published. She refused to provide a copy to re porters, and a worldwide search conducted by a reference librarian at the Denver Public Library failed to find a copy.
"It would sound very quaint now," Janet McReynolds said. "It was a '70s play. It was written for its time."
She said the play is irrelevant to the Ramsey case.
Bill and Janet McReynolds say the only significance of their daughter's abduction to the Ramsey case, regardless of the dates, is that it underscores the compassion they feel for John and Patsy Ramsey.
Their daughter's ordeal "makes you sensitive to the horror" of JonBenet's murder, Janet McReynolds said.

I had wondered if it was someone that Bill McReynolds was related to or associated with who kidnapped his daughter and her friend. Could they have also come to know about JBR from her connection with Santa Bill.

I really must do some more research into that incident, Biz. From what I have read and I'm speaking from memory alone, the two girls were picked up by someone in a car and the McReynolds girl was told to get out as the abductor was planning to molest her friend. When she refused, the abductor let them both go.

That's really odd. Why would a random stranger care if his victim's friend watched the molestation? A pervert like that would be more likely to molest both. It could well have been an associate of the McReynolds' who somehow just couldn't bring himself to do that to her. I think the McReynolds' daughter is named Jill. I wonder now, as an adult, whether she may remember something in retrospect which could cast more light on what happened that day. It may just have a connection to this case.

That is THE Jill. Read her info and her friends. If you don't think she would talk, then why do posters keep asking questions that cannot or will not be answered. Of course it wouldn't hurt to ask. What's the worse that could happen?

Hi Georgie,

Right on schedule.

Why don't you ask the questions on FB and let us know how it worked out?

TIA

BTW, I get a little chuckle seeing your hat. I had a cat named George and every time I see your hat, it makes me chuckle visualizing him posting on topix; at the computer with his little paws typing away.

Still waiting for someone to give a source that the McReynolds refused to take a polygraph test.

Mama2 gave the wrong page number in PMPT and we've heard nothing since.

When are one of you unscrupulous IDI going to ask one of the McReynolds this question on FB? Come on now. I know some of you have accounts there. ;)
Those of you who advocate doing it should have no problem writing and asking one of them, no?

Running away without providing a source seems to be something they have become very good at. They probably also don't want to "go there" because any objection they would have from someone refusing a polygraph would also have to apply to the Ramseys

Perhaps Santa Bill was never asked to take a polygraph? Nobody on this forum has ever seen the case notes with regard to Santa Bill.

The only so-called evidence I have ever seen about the matter is that Santa Bill expert Evening2 once posted on a JonBenet forum that Santa Bill refused a polygraph

I think Jeff Merrick was supposed to have refused a polygraph. It is reported on the Miss Marple website that the Barnhill boarder, Glenn Meyer, was polygraphed. All that isn't really hard documentary evidence either.

Fleet White and the Ramseys were never officially asked to take a polygraph. Steve Thomas used the 'no polygraph' argument as propaganda against the Ramseys in the court of public opinion, and he was supported to this day about that by the Borg at Forums for Justice.

The matter was discussed on TV by the Ramseys at one time:

COURIC: Did you all take a lie detector test?

Mr. RAMSEY: We were never asked to take a lie detector test. That's another...

COURIC: Why not volunteer to take one?

Mr. RAMSEY: It didn't occur to me, first of all. That wasn't our motive.

Ms. RAMSEY: I understand that lie detector tests are not admissible in court anyway. It's kind of a voodoo science.

Mr. RAMSEY: I would, if I was asked, certainly I would. But the fact is, I was never asked.

COURIC: And you never volunteered?

Mr. RAMSEY: I never volunteered. It never crossed my mind. I was not interested in proving my innocence. I was interested in finding the killer of my daughter

That is so sweet about your cat. Glad it brings good memories to you. My dad's name was George but close family called him Gege (JeJee) but don't ask me why.

About Facebook. I am not registered there so I can't post there.

As far as if the Santas took polygraphs, my guess would be no. They were so forthcoming about justnhow cooperative they had been, what they and their sons had provided to LE, that I can't believe if they took polygraphs and passed, they would not have shouted it from the highest mountain in Boulder.

I don't think anyone should be afraid to ask any of the McR questions, especially if they are as innocent as they profess to be.

Strange, but Tristan only has friended two people on Facebook, and one is not his mother. One is Jesse and the other is a shaman.

Some, including myself, have wondered why the santas said some of the strange things they said. If you look at those things along with elements of the RN and shamanism, they fit quite well. Bill did say he was a practitioner and that "she" (JBR or Janet) saved his soul. That's what a shaman does, among other things.

Well, we all know how upset JR got when it was even suggested that he take a polygraph so....I guess he was pretty much full of crap during this interview with Couric.
So what was your point in posting it?

We were talking about the McReynolds and for all your waffle, we are no closer to knowing if they refused to take a polygraph than we were before.

I just don't do any social networking. No FB, no MS, no Twitter, nothing, nada. My family is small and lives close by. As far as being a groupie, I don't do that either ;)

Besides, I don't think I asked the questions in the first place. But, now that we know they are on Facebook, in my opinion, it's an opportunity to finally have some of those questions asked to the source and, who knows, maybe even answered. I'd say it's worth a shot.

I think you've already made your point and you obviously have access to FB since you seem to know a lot about it and who is on, so I guess if anyone is that interested they can do that without all the reminders.

Amazing how you post at the same time as someone else.

Just sayin'

Why else would someone come here in post, unless they have a hidden agenda. I don't have a hidden agenda. My agenda is as I stated above.
As for Facebook, I only have access to the info that is public. There must be a reason that goes deeper than privacy to not ask questions of those who have been looked upon in questionable light by LE, when the opportunity to do so has presented itself.
