As much as I like it here any decent thread goes to shit. Those on FFJ and Websleuths seem a tad bit more professional and their conversations are usually refective of that. There are a few great, informed posters here but for the most part I feel Topix may be a little too rudimentary for someone like myself. I know there are posters here that post on other sites as well and I'd just like some guidance on how or what I have to do to become a member on a more advanced forum. With all the recent news on this case I want to get back into this again without all the b.s.

Any forum that you wish to join usually has a registration process. All you have to do is register at the forum of your choice

Most of those, including those you mentioned, have moderators to keep out the BS and the trolls.

The condition is that you have to provide a valid email address and with some forums, you cannot have an AOL account to join as far as I know; at least with two particular forums

Generally you can just send an email to the webmaster if you have questions about registration or the forums will have a registration link you can follow. I would try and contact one of the administrators of whatever board you want to join.
