Given that the fact that the GJ voted to indict is now public knowledge, I'm not sure how reasonable it is for John to claim that releasing the indictment without the rest of the materials would be defamatory.

The fact that John is suggesting the release of the full records or nothing seems to indicate that he is pretty sure of the contents of both indictment and other GJ materials and that he believes former will be more embarrassing than the latter. He shouldn't really know either of these things.

LOL thought it was all just "drama" to Fat Cat? The fact that he's squirming tells you there's something to worry about. I hope it's all laid open and maybe just maybe JonBenet will get justice in the form of the truth about her parents finally being told.

I wonder which lawyers are his mouth pieces this time. You can bet John is squirming. He only want's the indictment released if the entire Grand Jury record is released? Is that like the ridiculous demand of only allowing the police to question the Ramseys if they were together?

Grand Jury proceedings are sealed - if they weren't people would not testify freely but one can argue why bother to testify at all if the DA doesn't carry out the bill?

I don't read this as JR wants the Grand Jury records released. They know that would never happen, which is why they're trying to hang their argument on it.

I read it as his attorneys are once again putting the screws to Boulder LE to keep the Ramsey's dirty little secrets for all time.

We knew Team Ramsey would be all over this D.A. and judge at some point, trying to stop the truth from coming out...AGAIN. They are so predictable.

But the Ramseys lied about the Grand Jury findings multiple times in their own book, DOI.

There's that arrogance AGAIN: THE RAMSEYS CAN LIE TO THE PUBLIC FOR 13 YEARS, BUT WOE UNTO ANYONE WHO TRIES TO TELL THE TRUTH.

Just my opinion, of course.

his lawyer's no doubt L shakeemdown Wood. Maybe if they scream and threaten enough, the judge will get scared and back off..hahaha, as IF. We must keep in mind LWood's signature tactic under the premise of NO INDICTMENT, screaming lawsuits and getting settlements without actually going to court. Looks like he cheated;)

This is their typical MO, bullying and threatening. It's how they operate, like everyone is their servant, and they are there to tell them what to do and when to do it. It's just the arrognce and conceit of those used to getting what they want from the craven, spineless Boulder DA's office. To hell with John Ramsey. He isn't even cooperating in this investigation, he's just threatening. Years of cowardice have created this bullying monster machine of theirs.

and where does the power come from? The Ramseys weren't the richest people in Boulder, far from it. Did Ramsey gather so much dirt on Boulder officials none of them dare stand up? Who's in charge, Ramsey or Boulder? It's been an awful long time and most in LE back then have moved on, so who still needs to kiss Ramsey's ring?

The Ramseys might not have been the richest people in Boulder, but they had to be pretty high up. The median household income is around $65k. John Ramsey was probably making around $1 million in 1996 money. Also, you don't have to be the richest person in town to get away with murder. He had enough money to hire the best defense lawyers in Colorado.

I'll tell you who had influence and major money: Lockheed Martin. LM had more plants and employees in Colorado than JR and AG--many more.

As a major defense contractor, a few well-placed phone calls could easily have gotten strings pulled before 911 was ever called.

Under the ruse of "national security," phone records can be sealed, no problem.

Not that LM had anything to do with this crime itself, but you can do a little research and find out that big corporations do NOT like scandals that make the news and focus a bad light on them. It's not good for business.

Even though JR was a very small fish in that pond, he was still an executive for LM and therefore would have fallen under THAT Umbrella of Protection, long before the Umbrella of Suspicion was raised.

That's why I believe the phone records were not subpoenaed. Alex Hunter knew he'd been trumped before Patsy dialed 911, IMO. Why else would the FBI step down with a child kidnapping of a LM executive being handled by the inexperienced BPD alone.(Linda Arndt waiting alone for a terrorist ransom demand? Who believes that? Really?)

Yeah, it's a conspiracy theory! I'm old, I'm tired, I've wasted how many years on this corrupt case, and I'VE EARNED IT.

What a surprise. It would seem that Mr. Ramsey is more concerned with his reputation than he is with the possibility that pertinent information in this case could be revealed by releasing all the Grand Jury documents. Info that might aid in the future apprehension and conviction of his daughter's murderer.

Has he despaired of this case ever being solved; or is he CONFIDENT that enough stonewalling was done by he and Patsy to insure that justice will never be realized for Jonbenet? So toss all caution to the wind. Reveal all evidence--if the protection of his character is no longer an option. This doesn't sound much like the actions of a concerned father to me.

Why, indeed? As you say, an LM exec's daughter has been kidnapped, the FBI is aware, and Arndt is left in charge at the scene. Bwahahahsh

A $6 million net worth is more than rich enough to get away with murder. There will always be someone richer. And it's not just about money, but also about who you know and connections.

Nobody should be surprised that John would want the records sealed

His remarks about "further defame" both him and Patsy are ironic, considering that they were INDICTED for being responsible for the death of JBR

I hope he gets what he wants and the ENTIRE record inclusive of evidence presented is released

John has had many opportunities, as well as Burke and Patsy to clarify information and to be honest. They chose not to, with the assumption that nobody would ever know and the tide is about to turn if the judge releases the papers

If they release EVERYTHING, this will be a game changer for John and I would not be the least bit surprised if John spends a fortune to keep things sealed.

Karma is a b***h and better late than never

"The attorneys also argue the public won't be able to evaluate the propriety of the indictment unless the entire grand jury record is unsealed."

How condescending...

Duhh what goes on first da shoe or sock?

Of course the entire GJ records can't and won't be opened. John and his attornies know that.

And what happened to Patsy, who is Patricia???
