It's thanks to gutless cowards from hell like Steve Thomas that Lin Wood is at the heights of power he is today, fully in with the billionaire right wing Koch brothers behind Cain. Thomas stll hiding behind his pathetic deal and Wood getting more and more powerful, in spite of not having a big win in years. Allred had better have some backbone and some facts on her side is all I can say.

No doubt who the gutless coward was that wanted to settle. Quote: ATTORNEYS REPRESENTING THOMAS, co-author DonDavis and their publisher, St. Martin's Press, OFFERED TO SETTLE WITH THE RAMSEYS...

Attorney for Parents of JonBenet Ramsey Lands Two Libel Settlements
R. Robin McDonald

Fulton County Daily Report

March 19, 2002

IN A ONE-TWO PUNCH, L. Lin Wood Jr. has settled two unrelated libel cases: one brought by the parents of JonBenét Ramsey against a police detective turned author and a second filed by AirTranAirways Inc. against the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Wood reached both settlements with attorneysat Washington, D.C.-based Dow, Lohnes & Albertson -- his legal arch-nemesis in libel litigation.

The terms of both settlements are confidential, Wood said. The Atlanta lawyer said he reached a verbal settlement last Friday on behalf of John and Patsy Ramsey with attorneys representing former Boulder, Colo., police detective Steve Thomas. AirTran's libel suit against the Plain Dealer settled two weeks ago.

Wood said both cases settled after hisclients secured favorable court rulings from two federal judges in Atlanta.

ATTORNEYS REPRESENTING THOMAS, co-author DonDavis and their publisher, St. Martin's Press, OFFERED TO SETTLE WITH THE RAMSEYS the same day that U.S. District Judge Willis B. Hunt Jr. decided the libel case could be tried in Georgia, said Wood. Ramsey v. Thomas, No.1:01-cv-801 (N.D. Ga. March 17, 2002). Thomas and Davis wrote "JonBenét: Insidethe Ramsey Murder Investigation."

Sean R. Smith, an attorney at Dow, Lohnes & Albertson, which defended Davis and St. Martin's, declined to comment on the case. The firm is also local counsel for Los Angeles attorney Daniel M. Petrocelli, who represented Thomas. Petrocelli was not available for comment.

David Kaye, senior vice president for legalaffairs at St. Martin's in New York, neither would confirm nor would deny that a settlement agreement has been reached...

I'm watching President Obama's live press conference in Hawaii, and it came up that Lin Wood's candidate, Cain, said waterboarding is not torture to him...

Lin did what he usually does when he takes a case; gets out his billy club and starts threatening people, in this case, "other women" that might come forward. The reaction from just about every women's group everywhere was loud and clear, women would not be intimidated by such blatent bully tactics. Lin must have been surprised, and moved to "clarify" his actions, and why Cain hired him.
To bring it all back to this case, Lin had to do very little other than threaten, ESPECIALLY AGAINST STEVE THOMAS, and the tabs, to get them to QUICKLY cough up settlements, and that's why he does this every time he takes a new high profile case.

Some of these American politicins amaze me. I know they are just puppets of the finacial sector but they shouldn't make silly rematrks about having no social security and no education and waterboarding torture is OK except for American and Israeli prisoners. I think Cain is in the pay of the secretive Koch oil tycoons.

That Newt Gingrich is a cretin who works for Murdoch's Fox News. The partly Murdoch owned Sky TV in the UK recently suggested that Gingrich should be a presidential candidate which makes me wonder about sane government and bias in the media.

I don't think Neville Chamberlain had a want of judgement though he still comes in for criticism from historians amd journalists.

America needs a strong personality with a safe pair of hands who can seize the situation like a man and who knows something about economics and the principles of finance and who has right judgement.

I really like this statement Henri, it's spot on as the Brits sometime say.

You said:"America needs a strong personality with a safe pair of hands who can seize the situation like a man and who knows something about economics and the principles of finance and who has right judgement." Excellent!

As you know poor Neville took it on the chin over his wishful thinking regarding Hitler and the Nazi's but at that point in time and from my admittedly narrow retrospect; I thought he did the right thing. Hitler snookered Stalin and many others, didn't he?

I sometimes think that American politicians figure that some bad press is better than no press, kinda like the line used by actors, like Teflon coated characters like former prez Ronald Raygun fascist gun in the west. Notice how they installed the Clarence Thomas stooge despite anything Anita Hill said, my main complaint about Thomas is his total lack of Judiciary experience, man what a sham to put that bird in that court.

I think Neville Chamberlain did the right thing. He cleverly didn't go to war in 1938 when the UK had hardly any Spitfires. That was a close run thing. Chamberlain was Minister of Finance when the UK defense budget was greatly increased. Chamberlain knew what he was doing and what was going on.

Chamberlain was later quoted as saying things would have been far worse if the war had started in 1938. Hitler was later quoted as saying he wished he had invaded France in 1938. I think Hitler was snookered.

I support these Occupy Wall Street protesters. The police in Ireland used to be described as agents of the rich to oppress those without property. Banking is a useful and lucrative and unregulated business.

I don't see why technically insolvent banks should be bailed out by the taxpayer from the health and education budget, and why police pension funds should end up in the pockets of private bankers just to guarantee banker Christmas bonuses.

My own local council is now talking about closing local residential care homes because of the latest round of spending cuts. It's not everybody who suffers from an austerity policy.

Damage control for yet another Lin Wood client. From the Scams to WONDERFUL Howard K. Stern, Lin sure knows how to pick these IMPOSSIBLE TO BELIEVE PEOPLE:

Quote: "Cain said HIS ATTORNEY has been told that an Atlanta TV station is coming out with a story about the alleged affair."

"Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain tells CNN that he will be accused of a long-term extramarital affair; he denied the new allegations and said he plans to stay in the race.

"I did not have an affair," Cain told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on "The Situation Room." "I have done nothing wrong."

Cain said his attorney has been told that an Atlanta TV station is coming out with a story about the alleged affair.

Cain has been the subject of at least two claims of sexual harassment, which he has strongly denied.

Wow! Once again, it was FOX NEWS who broke the allegations of this story, who are the only media outlet UNAFRAID of Lin Wood. I KNOW what happened to virtually EVERY reporter in the Ramsey case that had a story he didn't like coming out. HE SCREAMED BLOODY MURDER AT THEM, THREATENED THEM, and the PATHETIC ones, like the one that was going to play a copy of the ENHANCED 911 tape, they backed down. KUDOS TO FOX NEWS ONCE AGAIN, ALONE IN STANDING UP TO LIN WOOD'S CLIENTS.
