Lynette, I just thought of a solution to the opposition to your post. They claim it's purely a case of it being off-topic, e.g., "Are we to start threads and discuss every case on the JBR Board?"
I think all you need do in the future is to name your thread something that will cover you, such as, "Other Cases That Parallel the JBR Case", or something similar.
LOL
Unfortunately though that would be a lie. If people want to try and hammer a square peg in a round hole like Smit did, I suppose humpty dumpty would parallel the case too, LMAO.

No, it would NOT be a lie. She has listed the reasons IN HER OPINION why there are parallels between the cases.

She has a right to her opinion.

YOUR saying that her opinion is a LIE is being judgmental on your part. Which should be right up your alley. You could get out your red pencil and start grading.

It is not fact - therefore it cannot be proven true.
Her opinion carries weight as her opinion, not as fact.
Butt out.

Are we now to post only that which has been proven to be true?

My, but aren't we touchy already!! Such a sweet disposition. Go get yourself a cup of coffee and relax a bit.

Butt don't worry, I'll be happy to.

Thanks for your support and the good advice, OS. I should have done that, but I had no idea there'd be such a fuss about this thread. I'll remember next time.

You know and knew there would be a fuss about franky too, but that didn't seem to bother you either so stop being such a hypocrite until you decide to do the right thing. Your knowing what will make a fuss makes no difference to you, so your sucking up only fools certain people

You won't bring yourself to do the right thing, hypocrite

The Ramseys killed their child and Rea-Harper killed her son. End of story.

Of course every case is unique, but I posted this story for several reasons:
1. How many times have I seen RDI posters question the likelihood of an intruder entering someone's home and murdering their child while the parents slept through it all? This is another case which proves that it can and does happen.
2. It disproves the theory that "the only person/people KNOWN to be in the house should necessarily be regarded as the number one suspect/s. All evidence should be examined and taken into account, most importantly history and motive. Julie Rae Harper had no previous history of being abusive nor did she have a motive for killing her child. The Ramseys had no previous history either, nor any motive for killing JonBenet and/or covering up her death.
3. It shows what can happen to a perfectly innocent person when police decide prematurely who's "guilty" and therefore do not do a complete and thorough investigation.
4. It demonstrates the importance of "lawyering up".
5. In the Joel Kirkpatrick case police reported there were no footprints in the dew. But it was later proved there was no dew, the grass was dry. In the JonBenet case it was reported there were no footprints in the snow. What wasn't mentioned is that the snow was patchy and the walkways clear of snow. In both cases this misinformation pointed to parental guilt.
6. In both cases the perpetrator used items from INSIDE the home to commit the crime, thereby casting suspicion on the parent/s.
7. In both cases key evidence pointing to an outsider was dismissed or downplayed and the spotlight focused on the parent/s when the possibility of an intruder being the killer should have been taken seriously and relentlessly pursued.
I notice none of the families of these victims had a ransom note left behind. Tells me, if something happens to your child, accidentally or maliciously, by a family member, it is best to write a rambling ransom note to fool the authorities into first looking for a gang of kidnappers. That way you can bring in friends, and they and the forensic experts will walk through the crime scene and over the potential evidence destroying much that could have been detected had there been no ransom note and a latched cellar door, and only a little lifeless body.
