Life would be a whole lot easier if those ole discussion boards were still on line wouldnÂ’t it! JW, CS, BNF to name just three. Of course anything was placed on the internet back in those days, in part because people could do it.

The DMCA was signed into law in October 1998, but rarely enforced for the first few years it existed, at least at the discussion board level. People posted what they wanted to and only took it down when they got caught, like Jams who got caught on more than one occasion posting material she had no right to make public.

No one wishes they could find it more than I do!

As for a vidocq report being at one time available online and at one time discussed online but now vanished along with all trace and reference to said document and discussions? Surely, everyone can understand how unlikely this seems and how those of us who have never seen the report or any reference to it or discussion of it might have doubt?

Wecht is more than a member. He was a paid 'employee' or spokeperson, took money for having his name used with the business. He appears to have broken ties since the news got out.

Lee would have to have a certificate from the organization for most Judges to accept him and allow him appear in court as an 'expert'. Most all expert witness have this ACFEI 'certificate' with or without the corresponding professional legitimate education to back it up.

One major recognized 'business' ACFEI provides the 'certification' needed to testify as an expert witness in US courts on a variety of subjects from fingerprints to ballisitcs to hair. The 'certificate' is bought with little regard to qualifications. There are no standards. This is a crisis situation in American Courts.

US courts are such a bustling business a need developed for experts that surpasses the actual number of experts.

There are plenty of people rotting away in prisons and even those that have had a death sentence carried out based on the $500 fee that can be bought in a fictious pet's name.

This is the new America. It should come as no surprise people like the Ramseys don't even have to appear in court or speak to police about the little dead body that was stinking up the basement.

Not sure whether anyone has mentioned this but Wecht has new book coming out soon. It apparently covers the JBR case:

7 Deadly Scenes: A Famed Medical Examiner Takes You Inside Shocking True Crimes.

Hi Heloise,

Thanks. Please keep us posted if you hear any more details. Hopefully it isn't just a repeat of old stuff and sheds some new insight if possible due to the newer evidence since his first book

funny that JR didn't sue Dr Wecht over his first book on the subject, huh? Oh, what's that? JR would have to answer questions in a depo if he sued? lol

LOL, They always seemed to drop or settle lawsuits before the depo phase didn't they? I can understand why because they couldn't even keep their stories straight from one end of their own book to the other, and they had total editing control.

Hey LE:D
Yep, and the worst part is everybody they sued, folded! I realize it's costly to go to court, but every agency they sued was loaded and insured and should have called their bluff.
Lin Wood earned every penny screaming over the lawyers, his tactics laid out in full view when R's met Boulder LE in his office that time. He tuckered everyone out with all his bravado and fury. None of them are as willful as I because I would have screamed louder and been far more confrontational than any of 'em. I'll dog you til you drop, and the R's would be no exception.
I just wish people that ran into them gave them the hairy eyeball, lol. They were allowed to sachet thru airports and churches as if nothing ever happened.

Wood didn't sue Wecht because he wasn't retained by the Ramseys until after the statute of limitations on his book had ran out.

And it was Wecht who bailed from having his depo taken, a week before it was supposed to happen. He knew it was too late to bring anyone else in, and all ME testimony would be unrebutted, thanks to HIS acts.

Thanks Candy,

If he wasn't sued solely based on the statute of limitations, it will really be interesting to see what he has written about Ramsey in the new book.

Let's see what he has to say now and which path he chose

I don't see anything about that book coming out in this country.

Wecht was a real coward when it mattered in this case. After he quit the Wolf case a week before his scheduled depo, he had the audacity to go on TV about the Wolf case after it was lost, on Crier Live. Lin Wood threatened both Crier and Wecht, and they both shut up for months about the case. Then Wecht backed out of the July 17, 2003 special on the case on MSNBC by Dan Abrams after Wood threatened him and all the guests on the show. Wecht was the only one to not show up because of the threats.
