I am shocked the Boulder Daily Camear is not a party to this lawsuit. Charlie is working with the great First Amendment lawyer, Tom Kelley, who was responsible for the autopsy report being opened to the public in its entirity.

I hope the media wake the heck up and ask hard questions about what Garnett has been doing with the JonBenet Ramsey case since he has been in office in January, 2009. He has been able to avoid public scrutiny, take campaign contributions from Patsy Ramsey's lawyer, Patrick Burke and DO NOTHING else, put NO pressure on the Ramseys at all. It's just disgraceful and high time hard questions are asked publicly.

watched another Cold Justice last night..a murder committed over 30 years ago. The suspect the new detectives looked at was the suspect back then..the victim's own son. Anyway, they gave their evidence to the DA and he wrote that he discovered the grand jury back then indicted their suspect! Nothing was done about it then for some unknown reason and now the (new) DA's looking into the 'impropriety' and putting the case to a new GJ.

The current Boulder DAs office, just like the pathetic ones of the past in this case, has no vision, no guts, both pre-requisites if you're going to take on Hal Haddon and the highly paid Ramsey scheme team. Hal and company have never had a run for their money at any point in this case from the Boulder DA's office.

Garnett got around to indicting the other famous cold case in Boulder, the Sid Wells case, then they dropped the ball and did nothing. The Boulder PD was forced to ask for help from John Walsh and America's Most Wanted to feature the case. That is what is needed MILLIONS of people seeing the age progressed drawings of the indicted suspect Smitka. But Garnett didn't help out by contacting America's Most Wanted on his own, with the power of his office, even when John Walsh was filming in Denver only 30 miles away. The result has been the Sid Wells case has NOT been featured on America's Most Wanted, and predictably, Thayne Smitka has NOT been captured. Putting Smitka on internet sites is not the same as MILLIONS seeing the picture via TV, which is why TV has trumped all other media for turning in suspects. Garnett could have pushed to ge the case aired, and he didn't bother. There isn't even that small amount of "the vision thing" as President GHW Bush used to call it, and these cold cases that need some COURAGE AND VISION have suffered greatly for it.

Charlie doing this, is doing what the press is supposed to do, but I've been against it, because if by some MIRACLE, the Scams don't know what was in the grand jury indictment, here it comes so they can prepare any make sure they have all their TRASH ready for the brave ones that got the Scams indicted. Those people are going to be unmercifully persecuted by Team Scamsey, every ounce of dirt the Scams can dig up on the people and evidence that caused them to be indicted will be flung at them. I saw this first hand in the Wolf case, how they went after the handwriting experts, etc.

This is what an almost identical grand jury indictment in Boulder County looks like, the indictment of the monied Midyette parents, once again ONLY for child abuse leading to death, NOT First Degree Murder or First Degree Child abuse like poorer child abuse parents were indicted for. The indictment tells you A LOT about what evidence the jury found caused them to indict the two monster "parents."

The GJ couldn't figure out who did what between John and Patsy and then advised Hunter to prosecute both of them for negligence resulting in death.

Hunter couldn't figure out who did what between John and Patsy but had enough sense to not prosecute both of them seeing a defeat.

Thomas wanted to prosecute both of them thinking what "they" did would become clear in the courtroom.

None of the above had it right as there was no "they".

Garnett does not want to proceed with the case because it will come back on the Boulder DA's office and sink his chances of advancing in the beaurocracy.

Any pressure on Garnett to release a worthless opinion by the GJ is like asking Garnet to commit political suicide. His refusal will give weight to the GJ's worthless opinion. If he or the next DA relents then the worthless opinion will be released and the case will be at square one: no one can figure out who did what between John and Patsy.

This case is beyond cold in Boulder. IMO and seemingly the opinion of many many others, this case will never be anything more than a cold case that by law, just can't be closed officially but nothing will ever bring the case to court.

That said, the threads of corruption in Boulder run through many offices and departments and this "thread" has prevented all the DAs from doing the right and proper thing for justice

Releasing the documents will not move the case forward but it would be wonderful to know just how far the GJ got and their rationale for their decision to indict.

At this point, IMO, I don't believe there is anything that will be a detriment to this case if it is released and that would include the FULL DNA report.

I would love to see the outcome of this lawsuit be in the favor of JBR and with every detail that is released, it is more information; but only really for the public's consumption.

I don't think they will win the lawsuit but at this point, almost 17 years after the fact, any publicity or lawsuit or news article, media outlet, etc. reminds Boulder that their elected officials are not doing their jobs AND keeps this case in the public eye so nobody forgets that this little girl has never received justice

Colorado has the most onerous grand jury law in the country. Darnay went all the way to the U.S. Supreme court, trying to change Colorado's grand jury law. He got it changed at the 10th circuit level, then of course, Lacy and company freaked at that prospect, and got it reversed.

JonBenet does not have any advocate in Boulder, that is the problem. The DA's office is supposed to be HER advocate, and they never have been. They are too intimidated by the Scams powerful lawyers (and Garnett is friends with Patrick Burke, Patsy's Johnnnie Cochran) There needs to be some whistleblowers coming forward about why they have thrown this case under Garnett, and have done nothing for years on end. Hopefully, the case will be moved out of Boulder then, because all they want to do is bury the case, and they certainly don't want anyone else solving it, and showing them up.

Tom Kelley, the great First Amendment attorney working with Charlie, had a famous saying when he was going after the COMPLETE autopsy report, on behalf of ABC News, on behalf of the American people, which is "The right to know, is the right to know TODAY." Meaning the UNREDACTED autopsy report needed to be available for public scrutiny NOW, not 75 years from now like they did with the JFK files, etc. The public had the right to know NOW what that JonBenet's autopsy revealed, ALL OF IT, and he won it for everyone. That case he won was called Meyer v. ABC News:

Court of Appeals No. 97CA0891 Trial Court No. 97CV133

JOHN E. MEYER, M.D. AS CORONER OF BOULDER COUNTY V ABC., INC.; BOULDER PUBLISHING, INC.; CBS, INC.; DENVER POST CORPORATION; LEHMAN COMMUNICATIONS, INC.; NBC, INC.; AND MCGRAW-HILL BROADCASTING, INC., D/B/A/ KMGH TV,

This cause came to be heard on the record on appeal from the District Court of the County of Boulder State of Colorado, and was argued by counsel. On consideration thereof, it is ordered that the Order of said Court is AFFIRMED.

How gutless of the Boulder Daily Camera not to be a party to this lawsuit. As you can see above, every media outlet joined THE FIGHT to open the ENTIRE JonBenet autopsy report to WE THE PEOPLE, for public scrutiny, not just what Alex Hunter wanted you to know about it.

Hey RT, I just watched that show tonight and I am hoping it stays on the air because they are bringing up some very interesting scenarios. Did you ever see the Brooklyn DA show that started a few months ago? Another "actual" live show, but I hear NYC didn't want its real cases aired on TV, and there was some scuttlebutt over it. I think they ran 4-5 episodes, if that. It truly was another interesting show.

Hi LE:D
No, I didn't see the NY one but bet that was fascinating! I love this Cold Justice because they basically deal in nothing BUT circumstantial evidence and it all boils down to common sense. They pay attention to the 'oddities' in human behavior and the certain things suspects say, etc. and I'm glad because it shows me we (RDI) are right to think as we do.

Hi there RT,

If you have On Demand on cable, you can catch the few episodes they did for Brooklyn DA. It was a really great show and I hope they bring it back

IMO - At this time - it will be professional suicide for Garnett and his legacy (son) to do anything other than release the indictment. He'd help himself by taking it a step further and releasing anything and everything he can.

At This time - with the flooding and natural catastrophe at hand - any civil servant who expends an ounce of energy on anything not related to helping elevate the suffering is doomed.

Colorado doesn't want to see Jonbenet's face or hear the name of the Ramsey family when other people have lost so much more.

I'm pretty sure the DA has nothing to do with the flooding, or the effort to rebuild homes. Also, it will be months before the court case for this lawsuit actually begins. So I don't think that the current flooding will have anything to do with whether the indictment is released or not.
