Home Rule was wanted by the majority of people in Ireland.
Going against it to please a minority of protestants in Ulster was a great mistake, for which we are all still paying the cost.
The idiots should have realised they could not have Home Rule and remain in the UK.

That is why Westminster partitioned Ireland in 1914.

You appear to have problems taking things in. There were thousands of British Army in Ireland during the War of Independence. Not only that the Auxilleries and Black and Tans were mostly ex-WW1 soldiers. The RIC Auxillery group were ex-WW1 veterans brought in from Britain. And don't try and dispute it, I've studied it, I've done a degree where this was covered. So unlike you, I know what I'm talking about.
Partition had not been agreed by Westminster in 1914. All that was meant to happen in Ireland was Home Rule within the UK meaning Ireland would have still been mostly ruled from Westminster, the British Army would still have remained the armed forces of Ireland, and the RIC would still have remained the police force of Ireland, the Irish War of Independence ensured most of Ireland left the UK completely, and with that, so did the British Army.
Ireland could not have Home Rule and remain in the UK.

the majority of people in both Irish states do NOT want re-unification. Learn a few facts instead of pulling them out of your ass
Can you prove the above comments, as far as I am aware no referendum has ever been made in regards to Irish Unification in recent times.

However, you must take this little fact into account Martin Mc Guinness, of Sinn Fein recently received over a quarter of million votes in the recent presidential election, while all of the other republics political parties have a republican ethos which of course is a support for reunification.
In the 6 occupied counties, the high majority of Nationalists/Catholics prefer unification.
How do I know that info, you might ask?
We'll I live amongst them and I have never heard otherwise, not ONCE!
Maybe it is you that needs to learn a few facts lady, before you pull them from were the Sun does not shine....lol.

Those people in NI really do want to destroy the republic by forcing the RoI to tie an economic and political millstone to their necks and go jump in the Irish sea.

Those poor Irish.

They were perfectly entitled to have independence in my book, and the whole of Ireland less 6 counties was better than nothing.
Most people in Eire don't regret to be independent.

Russia a G8 'outlier' for granting asylum to Snowden: Baird

Canada has added its voice to those criticizing Russia for granting asylum to U.S. National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden

++++++===

This current Conservative government does not speak for the consensus of people of Canada about Snowden case. A Great majority of Canadian people support Snowden, just like those in USA and people all around the world.

This is a free country and people can think whatever and however they think in a democracy.

This present government has not reflected nor represented the sentiments and positions of most Canadians in the democracy, like former one.

There are no independent countries in Europe.

Southern Ireland has been reunited with the UK since 1973.

Membership of the EU doesn't mean abandoning independence.

Countries have their own independent governments, defence, foreign policies, budgets, etc...

No they don't. Just ask anyone in France, Italy, Portugal, Cyprus, southern Ireland etc.

Anyway the UK has been a US satellite since 1945.

McGuinness failed in his presidential bid and Nationalists in the North are a minority. I can only wonder how many nationalist communities there are in Scotland where you live

Collins was killed by a yank and not the IRA as you suggest. Collins was the IRA and thanks to him we Irish learnt how to beat the Brits. Since Collins the 'great' british empire have not had the ability to beat the Irish in almost 100 years. A few hundred Irish men and women forced the brits into a ceasefire. Careful now, what would you do if we put a few thousand in the field? All the loyalists in the world couldnt beat a few hundred Irish volunteers, and you lot think your a great military power, haha make me laugh! Loyalists are like the KKK or the Nazis, hate filled, pathetic drunken yobs that couldnt fight their way out of a wet paper bag.
fs wise you still didnt no that extreme loyalists came down 2 live last summer the pira or old ira could not come out and fight man 2 man face 2 face they had 2 launch a guerilla style warfare in both cases they had 2 hava war which suited them and there tactics the kkk dont exist anymore neither do the nazis whys that? hmmm?because all the great british people of these islands defeated them thats why just like the old ira had their victory you have more in common with nazis than us sure the ira in the 40s were going 2 help the nazis invade britian ffs through ireland but the nazis couldnt be sure that a bunch of dumb drunks could carry out their orders so it never materialised the germans said they spent way 2 much time in the bar/pub fs lol but can you blame them lol

Yes, he failed to win the presidential bid, however as there are only 4 million people in the 26 counties, his quarter of a million votes was impressive whilst probably only 2 million actually voted, while there was also 7 candidates.
Plus, all the other candidates belonged to politic parties who have a republican ethos at there heart.
The Nationalists in the North, are rapidly catching up with the loyalist community, whilst in three of the 6 occupied counties they are in the majority by far, it is highly believed that the nationalist community, will become the majority in the next decade to 15 years, then of course the demographics will change forever.
Finally, I do not live in Scotland, despite what my location says, for some unknown reasoning my location keeps changing, while none of these locations are in the occupied 6 counties which is where I reside. Maybe you could take it up with TOPIX UK if it bothers you, personally I could not give two flying fcuks, all I can say on this matter, whatever floats there boat!!!....LOL!
