As a rational athiest i'm offended that we allow a 'god appointed family' to rule anywhere in this day and age.

And as someone fairly new to this country I'm confused as to how the Loyalist/unionists try to make a claim to having a culture and heritage in ireland when they forceably stole the land from the natives a few hundred years ago. Their 'heritage and culture' originated in another country.
The arguement that 'My grandfather marched here and therefore I will' is a rather weak and ignorant excuse. By that same logic it would be the native irish that should be allowed to do what they want. Afterall their great-great-great-great-great- great grandfathers established the tradtions and cultures.

It's kinda like American's saying they don't want foreigners in their country even though they are technically the foreigners.

Personally i'd like to see the end of all extremist republican and unionists so that us normal working folk can just go about our days and enjoy the country in peace.

Uniting North and South probably isn't the best of ideas economically considering the North has no real economy to speak of. If North ireland was independant it would collapse under its own weight. Something like 60%+ of the work is public sector.
The economy has been crippled over the years or struggling for turf making it dependent on the UK for handouts.

In an ideal N.Ire the old, outdated and false 'traditions' should be removed from both sides. Territorial marching on both sides would be ceased. Flags on both sides would be removed.
Only then will our country be able to come together as one and realise that whilst we've had a rough history, we all share the same space now and our lives are so interconnected the fighting and territorial p*ssing is counter productive to improving the quality of life for all residents

Too many of these groups are pushing for their own agendas and ignoring the plights of the people.

Whilst both sides bicker and squabble the normal people suffer. With both sides refusing to give any ground there is no progress whatsoever being made.

excuse me mate we didn't steal anything how do you know what exactly happened all those years ago who stole from who or who killed who you weren't there! So again for those people who dream about a fictional united Ireland it is never going to happen! We are enjoying being British and focused on creating more jobs and securing investment why can't anyone who talks about this rubbish just concentrate on getting the republic back to where it once was with the Celtic tiger boom instead of going on about united Ireland pipe dreams that's like wanting Celtic and rangers In English premier league loads of advantages BUT never going to happen

Of course you would accept it wouldn't you? What's that Churchill said.. "we will fight them on the beaches, strets, hills etc" isn't that what the Irish did to you? Well not you really but your tiny Norman masters sho still rule over you. So the Irish simply invited you (i mean the tiny wealthy population of south east england) to take the country? Of course they did. Irelands population 4.3 million, Englands 58.6 million. Bully boy Engayland. You just nothing better than picking on a much, much smaller populated country don't you? So brave, that's Engayland

Although I totally agree with you about the RC church, what a bunch of nasty freaks they are. You must detest Dublin for their obedience to them. I don't like them either but what to do? Stop them? Ignore them? I don't know. How to prevent them from spreading? Education maybe
