Since they are illegal they obviously don't have any work visa. And yes, they pay all their taxes. The only difference if they get papers is that they will be able to visit their countries and buy more valuable things like cars. For an American it would be no harm.
Even if they are using their real name but someone else's social security number that is still identity theft. Identity theft is not a victimless crime. I know victims of ID with a hispanic last name 3 times in less than 10 years. The IRS wouldn't take his tax return because someone else filled a return with his social security number.

Fraud is fraud even if taxes are paid on a stolen SS.

You forgot about the people who came here legally as students or temporary work but overstayed their visas. Most of these people have SSNs and they can pay their taxes like any other American. The funny thing is that, even though they are not allowed to work they can open up LLCs. So they can own a company but cannot work lol.

Do you think the government doesn't know about them crossing the south border and about people overstaying their visas ?

If the government agrees with these issues then why would you turn someone in ?

And btw they would get deported if they did something bad not just because you call the INS
And just what do you consider something "Bad"?

And why do you think that our government agrees with these issues?

So if they can't work how are they contributing or paying taxes to things like workmens comp, unemployment, ss etc. Yes it's the government's bad for not following up on expired visas which has caused problems before. But why does the government do little with expired visas, probably because at onetime they tried locating these individuals to no avail or they tied up deportation in court for so long it wasn't cost effective. Now it is a different story.

In the past it's been estimated that appoximately 9 billion dollars in one year in taxes paid with mismatched date, fake names and social security numbers ie fake ids or identity theft. That's associated with 75 BILLION dollars in taxable income associated with those fake ids and ss's. That's at least 75 billion that could've gone to legal US citizens in a year.

http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/money/perfi/ta...

I know a family who filed electronically and had their return rejected because they said a return was already filed under their social security number. They had to have accountant file a paper return to straighten out their tax return.

The pretenders alledgedly desiring to pay taxes yet again cost the tax payers money with their ILLEGAL status.

True, but, because the US does not enforce the laws to punish them they live and work here without any problems. So even though they are illegals in the book they are fine in the real life since nobody takes action.

These are people who were living in very poor conditions in their country and it was worthy for them to take the risk and come here illegally. It's US fault it has not taken action to stop them or not to deport them. If you were born in those poor areas in Mexico you would have done the same. Now this is a big issue and it has to be solved somehow before it grows bigger and bigger.

Well, try to call the INS to report the illegals who work in your area and see what they tell you.

The government agrees with these issues because US has needed a lot of cheap workers. I really refuse to thing the government did not know about so many people crossing the border and working here illegally.

Everybody agrees on the fact that USA has a huge issue with illegal aliens and that needs to be addressed as soon as possible before it doesn't gets bigger. One way to tackle this issue is to deport all the undocumented immigrants but the cost would be way to high and it would also take a very long time to accomplish it. And this would also trigger a big economical fall as many companies would go bankrupt and it would have a domino effect on all the sectors. For example more than 90% of the people who work in the restaurants in NYC are illegal immigrants and if you deport all of them the city would be paralyzed as you can't find people to replace them right away. So my theory is that these people are so deeply involved in US economy that you can't just really remove them without catastrophic effects. The government knows this and that's why they don't even take into consideration this approach. Either way the government has to step up by having a clear solution to this issue.
